Anyone on ozempic?

My last pdoc suggested i take it for weight loss so im on it now. .25 increase every 4 weeks until at 2.

Meds put me into this mess. So meds will take me out. I also go to the gym already. Just couldnt make progress before.

Only been on it for 5 days now. Will update weight loss if anyone cares to know.

Anyone else had success. Any side effects? Lmk.

I’m on Jardiance. I think that its a similar diabetes drug if I’m not mistaken. I have not lost weight on it.

The ones that have results for weight loss are semaglutide. Ozempic and wegovy. I looked up that one i dunno if its in the same boat.

Yeah, I don’t know either. I just seem to remember from commercials of Ozempic and Jardiance, and what doc told about Jardiance that they both are diabetes meds and both claim potential weight loss. I think they both talk about dehydration as a potential side effect as well.

Jardiance works through removing blood sugar in urination, so the dehydration would seem to make sense.

I’ve experienced no weight loss, but I am not on that high of a dose either.

Edit: I’m going to look into it a bit further.

Okay right on. Theres been big news all about the ozempic thing. Good to know about the dehydration thing though. Im gonna start taking in more water.

I only did a bit of looking, but it would appear the potential dehydration in Ozempic is related to possible diarrhea, vomiting side effect if have kidney problems. Where Jardiance is related to urination.

Yes hi @ablue
I was on Ozempic and now I’m on Mounjaro.

They are both similar meds

I initially lost over 20 pounds with Ozempic

Good luck with it, it’s a good med

I was on Ozempic for diabetes and lost weight. It made me vomit once and have an upset stomach. I felt very uncomfortable in my stomach. I guess it’s worth the discomfort to get the weight off. I haven’t gained the weight back. In Australia they now have no supply as social media has promoted it as a weight loss miracle and loads of people are taking it. So I had to come off it. It is the only thing that managed to take off my antipsychotic weight gain and I tried everything. Mounjaro is reputed to be even better for weight loss. I believe Ozempic/wegovy has been approved for weight loss as well as diabetes but not sure.

Yeah towards the end of me taking Ozempic it wasn’t really helping me lose the weight anymore.

On Mounjaro I’m losing weight again.

These drugs also help lower my blood glucose levels, I’m also diabetic.
