Yeah, I don’t know either. I just seem to remember from commercials of Ozempic and Jardiance, and what doc told about Jardiance that they both are diabetes meds and both claim potential weight loss. I think they both talk about dehydration as a potential side effect as well.
Jardiance works through removing blood sugar in urination, so the dehydration would seem to make sense.
I’ve experienced no weight loss, but I am not on that high of a dose either.
I only did a bit of looking, but it would appear the potential dehydration in Ozempic is related to possible diarrhea, vomiting side effect if have kidney problems. Where Jardiance is related to urination.
I was on Ozempic for diabetes and lost weight. It made me vomit once and have an upset stomach. I felt very uncomfortable in my stomach. I guess it’s worth the discomfort to get the weight off. I haven’t gained the weight back. In Australia they now have no supply as social media has promoted it as a weight loss miracle and loads of people are taking it. So I had to come off it. It is the only thing that managed to take off my antipsychotic weight gain and I tried everything. Mounjaro is reputed to be even better for weight loss. I believe Ozempic/wegovy has been approved for weight loss as well as diabetes but not sure.
