¿Anyone on clozapine?

I haven’t responded well to any of the antipsychotics I’ve taken to date, none of the five. Neither olanzapine nor risperidone, nor Abilify nor Vraylar, nor Haldol. I understand that clozapine is indicated when these things happen. Anyone who is taking it or knows about this?

I used to be on clozapine. It was a very effective medication for psychosis. I had to stop it because it had some bad cardiac side effects for me, but if i could take it i would. Clozapine does NOT work for everyone, but it often works when nothing else does. It’s worth a try. I found it also helps with suicidal ideation.

@Ducky Interesting. I don’t know if clopixol is available in my country. I’ll ask my psychiatrist.
@WhiteRaven Yes, I have read that clozapine can have health risks, supposedly it has a unique mechanism

I often wonder if I should be on clozapine because of the lack of efficiency my other antipsychotics have given me. I hope I can find a better medication. Because right now I’m on 50 mg of haldol, 12 mg of Invega, and 42 mg of caplyta. And those are just the antipsychotics.

I take it too and it’s been way better than other AP I have taken

However it caused me some tachycardia which I take propranolol for. And yeah the regular blood tests are annoying , but I guess I don’t mind it all at the end of the day

Im on clozapine for 5 months so far. Still have a voice claiming to be what ever this is talking to me. Im on two weeks of uzedy 125mg up from 100mg as well.

I wouldnt wish what ive got on anybody.

I’ve been wanting to try this but my pdoc keeps suggesting invega or risperidal instead. Been on like 7 different APs.

I have been on clozapine for 15 years. It is a love - hate thing. I love it how it calms me down and put’s things into perspective but I hate the sedation. Best regards.
