If you were on/currently on Clozapine, can you share your experiences with the drug?

Great stuff, ive been on it for like 3 months now i think and its does wonders.
I take it at night, and i dont have any side effects anymore.
I was constipated for like the firsst month but its not bad anymore !!
Its the first AP that has properly worked on me.
So im happy.
Blood tests are a minor inconvenience.

Great for positive symptoms and good for depression.
Bad for weight gain, slobbering while sleeping.
I didn’t like getting blood drawn and/or dealing with the registry who consistently messed up my blood draw schedule, forcing me to get more blood drawn than necessary.

On clozapine I am most well balanced I have ever been on other drugs
I am doing well now but I still have blips
I have bed wetting side effects
I sleep like a dream

I had four side effects so heavy couldn’t get past first week. I hope it does go well for you!

How is it for the hallucinations? Does it diminish them or get rid of them? Visual, auditory and tactile . Are they minimized, have you/are you still experiencing them?

I think i was on too big a dose too fast for my 130 lb self I quickly gained 30 lbs and slept all days long practically. Yeah wasn’t for me but it did make me sane for a while.

It helped me with positive symptoms.

It got rid of my paranoia and delusions.
I’ve never heard voices or seen things that aren’t there.
Sorry you have to experience that

Main thing is does is take away my paranoia and calms me down.
Hallucinations are milder
Delusions are milder.
Overall - Great med
Dont be scared to try it !!

I kind of wish my pdoc would put me on clozapine. I would be a lot more confident if I was on that strong of a med

It’s not strong,just different from any medication I’ve tried.Been on and off for 20 years.It was always a lifesaver when other’s failed.

It’s just that clozapine is best known for med resistant sz and has much lower levels of relapse. If my doctor put me on it I would be a lot more comfortable moving out of my parents house.

Thats really impressive. For some reason working makes me psychotic but going to school doesn’t, so I’m just gonna see how long I can be in school, and hopefully figure something out by the time I’m done
