Just wanted to ask about experience with this med
I was on it for three years
800mg a day
It worked better than anything else
But my ECG test showed a QTc interval issue
Something to do with the recharge rate of the heart
So had to come off it
Very good drug and shame the Americans/Canadians can’t have it
Did it affect your prolactin levels/testosterone levels or did they never say
The prolactin was quite high but they said the benefits outweighed the risks
I see, I don’t think it’s for me. Doesn’t seem like a long term solution for men bc of the gynecomastia
A doctor recommended it to me in addition to clozapine but I declined
I have heard those two drugs go well together
Yeah I was on 800mg clozapine with 1200mg amisulpride. Was told this was the gold standard
That’s a lot of meds! I learned after clozapine testing that my body does not absorb the meds very well
Makes me wonder if that has always been why the others were not as effective
It increased prolactin for me, and after taking it, my TSH went high. I have to take a medication to stabilize TSH now. I had no sex drive on Amisulpride, even though I was on Abilify along with it, which counterbalanced the higher prolactin levels caused by Amisulpride to some extent. If you are concerned about your sex drive, I wouldn’t recommend taking it.
I remember I was hospitalized, and not responding to Clozapine completely (I was also on 800 mgs). The doctors there wanted to mix Amisulpride along with Clozapine, the gold standard for a death sentence, Fortunately, the voices told me to take Abilify, I asked my pdoc to give me Abilify, and after taking Abilify the voices mostly went away. There were some other symptoms for which I have now found Vraylar. I mostly have no side effects from this combination, and mostly, mostly no symptoms.
i take it, it works ok, i am on a low dose, but i have cfs which could be completely unrelated.
