Anyone on 2mg of Clonazepam

Has anyone here taken 2mg of clonazepam (Klonopin) all at once. What was your experience?

I have 0.5mg pills and my pdoc suggested one for sleep but it doesn’t have any effect. I tried two of them (1mg) last night and I was “half sleeping” but really not much.

I’m thinking tonight I will try 2mg to see if it works, but I don’t want to go higher than that. Famed psychologist Jordan Peterson’s whole benzo fiasco occurred when he started taking 4mg of clonazepam.

As far as becoming a benzo junkie, if it helps me sleep I am fine with that. Maybe in a year or two my brain will heal from olanzapine withdrawal and I’ll be able to sleep on my own. I’ll deal with benzo withdrawal when that happens. Clonazepam is one of the best benzos to get hooked on because it has a very long half life which makes coming off it easier than other benzos.

I was hooked on 0.5mg of clonazepam for over a year so I’ve been through it before, I know what I am getting into, but I need to sleep better.

Anyone have any experiences to share?

I was on 1mg clonezepam 2-3 a day for a year, then 4mg Ativan a day for 2 years for anxiety, I personally despise benzos, they are addictive garbage, I would use glycine, melatonin, anti histamines, CBD, l theanine, trazadone or anything besides benzos for sleep but that’s just me, the withdrawals are bad too.

I’m allowed to take up to 1.5mg a day.

Not at once.

Three times daily.

But I take two in the morning and one at night.

I can’t take CBD because I am on Latuda. Melatonin doesn’t work on me, anti histamines are hit and miss and when they work it is not all that good. Trazodone was useless for me. I take l-theanine every day and it keeps me calm but doesn’t put me to sleep.

Right now I am taking zopilcone and gabapentin, both of which come with dependency themselves.

I just ordered glycine, it should arrive in a week, I’ll give that a go.

Technically benzo are not “addictive” they come with “dependency”. Addiction is a craving for something, like a cigarette, dependency means you have a reaction when you miss your dose. I was dependent on clonazepam before, but I never felt addicted to it.

I take CBD with latuda is there an interaction?
I’m just sharing my experience, I had insomnia on abilify for years and tried many things to get sleep.
I despise benzos but if they work for you then do what works.

Latuda is processed by the CYP3A4 enzyme in your liver. CBD binds heavily to that enzyme. When CBD has used up all of that enzyme, there isn’t enough enzyme left to process the latuda. That can cause latuda levels in your blood to become too high which could lead to serious problems including death

Any medication that requires you to avoid grapefruit, like Latuda does, you should also avoid CBD. Grapefruit affects that same enzyme.

Wow thank you for sharing, I would have never known. I’ve been using CBD and will do some more research and switch back to aspirin for pain prob, thanks again.

Since quitting thc I require more klonopin.

Take about .25-.5 per day

For 11 years I’ve been on klonopin. I know how it works. Can get you high. But some people it’s hard to reach the threshold for that .

Thank god benzos have little recreational value for me

Great medicine at a small dose

Never developed any tolerance either

Well since you have been mixing them all along you may be okay. If you take a low dose of CBD and a low dose of Latuda then perhaps there is enough of that enzyme in your liver to handle both. But it is something you should be aware of, the possibility of having a problem does exist.

I am on 1mg a day. But take more, at times. :penguin::penguin::penguin:

Have you ever taken 2mg at once, does it put you to sleep?

I’ve taken 2mg before.

You get high, then you pass out, then you have a klonopin hangover.

It’s not worth it.

That’s exactly what I am hoping for, lol

I’ve never had a hangover effect from benzos. I’ve tried up to 1mg of clonazepam and 2.5mg of lorazepam. I guess they just don’t affect me that way.

My ex gf was taking 2 mg of Klonipin at night to sleep at one point and her pdoc was very alarmed and exclaimed that 2 mg of clonazepam was anesthesia.

Yes. It does not do much for me. :bird::bird::bird:

2 mg of klonopin is not like anesthesia. Nor has 10-20 mg of it ever given me a hangover (I don’t think…I typically drank with it too, though).

I have previously had a klonopin addiction and a bit of a problem there.

So, yes I have definitely taken 2 mg of it. My tolerance for it was high enough that 2 mg felt like nothing though.

Try it and see? If addiction isn’t a problem for you, more power to you.

Well I am going to try 2mg tonight. I hope it works without side effects. I guess I won’t know until I try it.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

My husband takes 2mg clonazepam in AM and PM for a decade. This last month Docs want to ween him off starting already at 0.25mg a month. Not sure why.

I took 2mg of clonazepam the last 2 nights and slept really well, felt great the next day too. But that is it, I am not going to take it again without first talking to my pdoc and getting his okay. I just wanted to test it out before talking to him so I could tell him it works. Normally there is a 2-3 week waiting period to talk to him but when I called yesterday they was a cancellation and I have an appointment with him tomorrow afternoon, lucky me.

I took Klonopin 2 mgs daily (three times a day). Sometimes, I would go up to 3.5 mg a day. It made the voices go away, but had no sedating effect. Moreover, it had sexual side effects for me.

Also, when I was coming off it, I struggled for at least 6 months. Sleepless nights, not in my senses, dissociative episodes, etc…it is a tough medication to get off from.
