I find that coffee doesn’t have much of an effect on me anymore. Maybe I have become immune to caffeine.

Some people have the opposite effect to stimulants and depressants. Alcohol makes them active and coffee makes them sleepy sometimes…

If I’m tired enough to sleep a coffee will not stop me

I got my blood pressure taken a few days ago when I had a lot of caffeine in my system. My blood pressure was 127/76. I’ve taken caffeine pills and gone right to sleep before. Any effect that caffeine has on me is probably a placebo effect. I still can’t quit taking caffeine pills, though.

Do you like hot chocolate? Or ovaltine?

Coffee and caffeine have all kinds of effects.

Hydrophobia is one of them. The body actually wants to quit absorbing the toxin so it starts flushing itself.

It’s also very easy to wear out the mind while under the stimulating influence and then crash… Even if continuing consumption.

It’s a neat one because it plays so close a role to serotonin itself in the brain. Effects memory, mood, and focus… However it’s not the real deal and utilizing it effects the bodies sense of homeostasis which can lead to irregularities in how it manages serotonin.

But yeah basically desensitization can completely negate the effects of caffeine as it become assimilated into the bodies sense of homeostasis.

Another point of advice is that high cortisol when waking inhibits the brain to easily utilize caffeine. That horrendous wake up stress is best staved off with something rewarding and stimulating to get the day going… But cortisol effecting uptake and then the desensitization can eliminate the positive effects of coffee all day.

Also caffeine blocks the absorption of adenine… The byproduct of ATP… The molecule for cellular energy. Adenine is supposed to cue a healthy sense that body is tired. Caffeine blocks this uptake an leaves one restless and potentially an insomniac.

Caffeine 101 for you… Used appropriately and in moderation… No earlier than after 45 minutes of being awake it’s a powerful enhancement on neurological processes. Otherwise it can dig quite the psychological hole… Especially regarding it’s effect on appetite and hydration.

Nicotine… Nicotine is even cooler.

I remember having a couple glasses of wine at dinner on new years eve one year…years back. Then I drank a cup of coffee and it made me pass the heck out!! The alcohol/caffeine combination makes me sleepy. Fortunatly don’t drink much anymore

Man back in the day I really â– â– â– â– â– â–  up my brain chemistry.

I was on anti-psychotics and I took 5 grams of shrooms and drank alcohol too. Then when the shrooms and alcohol were saying “OKAY WE’RE DONE, GO TO SLEEP NOW BIGJON” I decided to drink 2 cups of coffee… It destroyed my brain chemistry and had a year and a half straight of terrible anxiety. Since then I have recovered by taking naltrexone, that drug has saved my life. But because of that combination I couldn’t drive for a long while. Damn my past.

Yeah. Polysubstance abuse is insane. It’s more or less impossible to break down what’s what and why afterwards.

There still is a chance that my illness is the product of brain damage and not a genetic manifestation.

Polysubstance abuse was on my first review by a docotr. Drug induced psychosis, Parkinson’s… And that

Yeah I always got the polysubstance abuse label to. Although yesterday I was analyzing myself and I was probably ill around 13-15 years old. But drugs just made it worse. I never did substances till around my 18th birthday

Yeah. I think I had symptoms going pretty far back. Somehow I just didn’t believe them or really notice… They were never a long term fixation nor did I consider any of it out of place.

I had a lot of false memories though from what I recall. My psychosis was editing a lot of past experiences and writing itself into my past so who knows.

I wonder if it means we are ADHD - you know the way stimulants calm them down.
