Anyone here on a low dose?

Just wondering if anyone takes a low dose of meds. E.g. 0.25 or 0.5 paliperidone a day.

And if so do you have any side effects from the meds?

I’m on the lowest dose of paliperidone 1.5 but if I have any symptoms I can take 2.

I’m on 60mg of Lurasidone (Latuda). That’s pretty low. My pdoc would be fine with me dropping to 40mg because of my akathisia but I don’t want to risk becoming unstable. I’m doing well on 60mg and don’t want to mess with a good thing.

For schizophrenia I think I remember reading the minimum daily dose is 40mg and the maximum daily dose is 160mg.

They wanted me on the max dose of Latuda, but I stopped them at 129.5mg

Now I take Propranolol for akasthia

I’m taking 75mg of Trazodone for akathisia.

Does it work?

I am not convinced the med they put me on does

I’m on a low dose of Aripiprazole(Ability). I don’t know for sure as far as side effects goes. Not always sure what’s sz and whats meds, but as far as I know I am having no side effects from the meds.

Yeah, works great. The first time I took it, an hour later I was feeling completely fine.

I take it at the same time I take my Latuda. In the evening with dinner.

My pdoc wanted to put me on propanolol but I refused because that is a blood pressure medication and I don’t want to mess with my cardiac system, my blood pressure and heart rate are fine and I don’t want to screw around with that.

I was the one that told him I wanted to use Trazodone based on that article I linked above. He agreed to prescribe ti to me and it’s worked out great.

I need 75mg of Trazodone to be effective in eliminating my akathisia on 60mg of Lurasidone.

If you try Trazodone for akathisia you may need a higher dose of Trazodone because you’re on a higher dose of Latuda.

In the study above they used 100mg of Trazodone and found it very effective, but I believe Trazodone can be taken up to 300mg so there is room for you to play around with it.

The only potential concerns is side effects from Trazodone. I don’t have any fortunately.
