I have no doubt its the abilify. Just saying you can manage these side effects with therapy. There’s no perfect pill or pill combination it seems. My olanzapine makes me crave and eat a lot of food and gain weight because of it. I manage this by diet.

I dont like Abilify anymore. I think it causes depersonalization. I dont know any alternatives but the only times I experienced hallucinations were induced by other meds. I just miss being me.

Abilify, Rexulti and Vraylar are d3 partial agonists, now i am even more scared to try them

Pramipexole (and related D3-preferring dopamine agonist medications such as ropinirole) can induce “impulsive-compulsive spectrum disorders”[8] such as compulsive gambling, punding, hypersexuality, and overeating, even in people without any prior history of these behaviours

It’s not black and white, maybe you don’t tolerate abilify but you find rexulti to be good. You need to try a better combo just for the fact that you are taking a high dose, not for psychosis but for side effects.

Be mindful and stop the medication if it’s making you behave compulsively. You cannot do that much damage if you go back when you feel is too much for you to handle.

You are allways with preconceived ideas like thjs or that doesn’t work. But you are not fine rn. Just try.

The thing is I am prone to those side effects from previous trials with Abilify, it was hard to break the addictions

Be mindful when they start and go back if needed.

You can do it, is just a bit of awareness.

Im considering low dose abilify (2mg) to stabilize moods if I need it. I read it gets used for bipolar 1.

I didn’t. It was so disabling for me that I wasn’t on it for long. I call it Disabilify. I wouldn’t have been capable of acting on any urges if it had made me hypersexual.

Does it help with functioning at all? I read it was better for motivation for some people

I know it’s strange but it actually makes me worry less. It has a calming effect. I’ve only taken it once though I need to play w it more before really giving you my perspective

Thats good. Yeah its seems counterintuitive. I have that effect from concerta, calmer, worry less, can manage life tasks easier.

I watched some videos about how they work in the brain. It suppresses the limbic system which regulates your emotions.
