I grew up writing hip-hop and rap songs…been doing it since 13 or 14 years old and overtime became very advanced at combining words. The only song I can really share is very short and made with a cheap mic.
Here it is, I know most of yall aren’t into hip hop, but hey…I come from a different background… =P
Yea, man…I know what you mean. I literally don’t listen to mainstream music at all. It’s all about the underground nowadays, especially with where hip hop has been taken. I like every kind of genre, I grew up listening to classic dope artists like The Beatles. Actually want my best friend who plays guitar to make beats that infuse rock and hip hop together so I can write songs over them…something like Jay Z and Mike Shinoda did.
But to be honest…all of us here…we got more talent than most mainstream artists nowadays.
Nah, but I just listened to their tracks “Acid Raindrops,” “The Breakdown,” and “The Wiz” and man…I’m putting their music on my phone. They got dope, complex lyrics with that chill, west coast 90s tone…a little like Cypress Hill, but better.
If you want another group from 1999, but way more underground…check out Natural Elements.
PUTS is tight. Saw them live when they did san fran knights it was awesome. I love hip hop myself. Del the funky homosapien, mf doom, aesop rock, company flow, cannibal ox, eyedea and abilities, aceyalone, count bass d, blackalicious. Check out Jazz Spastiks they r pretty new but have a golden age style of producing sounds really good. I could go on for days about hip hop though lol
I really love the tracks Hang Loose and Kidd Drunkadelic O.S.T. is such a great album.
The album with San Francisco Knights is awesome too, but I don’t listen to it as much because it’s a little more relaxed, I love how bubbly O.S.T. is, and the intros are great lmao
