The deal was that as the oldest child you’d be the one they looked up to etc. Then hey presto they don’t really look up to you anymore.

Im the younger. My sister always picked on me growing up. I resent it a lot. She’s much better to me now but damn it hurt a lot for a while.

I’m the oldest of three and they zoomed ahead. I don’t really feel that competitive with them but am happy for them. BUT, my brother I tend to live vicariously through a little. I think about him more than I should anyway.

I’m the oldest. My sister who is the youngest(My brother is the middle one) is the only one who has had a successful career.

I relate to this thread so much.
I’m the older brother and I should be the one to look after my younger brother but instead it’s the other way around.
This hurts me so much.

I’m the oldest sibling too.
My younger sister has a much more interesting career and has been very successful.
She works in fashion and works with big celebrities everyday,
My family is endlessly fascinated with her.
Everybody just calls me a “trophy wife” because I don’t work consistently and my husband makes money.
I don’t resent my sister though.
She’s great and I couldn’t have a better sister or friend.

I’m the oldest of 4 they are all successful or on track to make more money than me. Despite my illness I have been a good role model through the ups and downs.
What really hurts the most is that most people have given their parents grandkids by now and I am stuck not passing on my mental disorder to any potential offspring.

I’m the oldest in my family too. My younger sister, just below me, didn’t have a very successful, money making career. She always worked as an underling in restaurants, nursing homes and now, at a gym.
My next youngest sibling works as a travelling flight paramedic. I suppose that can be considered successful, but, he wants to go to nursing school and become a nurse practitioner.
My youngest sibling died when he was only 36 years old of cancer. He wasn’t very successful either always working at fast food restaurants as an underling. Right at the end of his life, he snagged a job as a pharmacy technician. But, he didn’t have that very long before he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

I am the oldest of four. The one below me is an alcoholic. The other two are married and successful.

My pdoc asked me if I have siblings and their age. He wrote it down in my folder. Why does he care for my brother? Who knows

I’m the oldest as well also. My younger sister has had a really good life and now she will become a doctor very soon. She is happily engaged, well traveled, well educated and basically the star of the family where I’ve been struggling with life since childhood. I’m very happy for her because she’s worked hard to get to where she is and will be very successful at whatever she wants to do. I’m not competing with her either because that wouldn’t make any sense to me but we have a good relationship.

middle one had unremitting sz for 12 years and was hit by a car and killed
youngest just turned 40
alcoholic and (delusional for the last 5 yrs)
all three addictive problems
all 3 with dyslexia or autism
im married and although ive spent over a year in acute psych wards im now married for 9 yrs and stable for 12

I’m the oldest of three, I have two younger brothers which are actually half brothers. I only mention that because the Schizophrenia seems to be on my biological father’s side so it doesn’t affect them.
This disorder robbed me of several years in delusion, I would have preferred to have a good job and be looked up to. I do what I can.

And how your pdoc remembers all your past symptoms and doses?
O, there is a condic where she writes my meds and appointments, and for the symtoms there are in her head

My pdoc has many patients. Even with the same surname like mine. He can’t remember all. I remember he wrote down the funny delusion about captain beefheart’s mustache intertwined with my brain neurons
Mine has to, as I said they don’t really care about us😭
If she doesn’t care why don’t you find another?
