My sister had it. She’s very happy with it. Paid 3000€ for it cash.

I don’t qualify but I would if I could

My sister had it done but she has no fear. I couldn’t risk it .

I got the Smile laser surgery on my eyes in 2018.
The whole surgery took less than 5 minutes and didn’t hurt or feel anything. I was very nervous of the surgery beforehand but it was nothing to be scared about. Changed my whole life for the better as my eyes were around -9 before surgery and around -1,5 after.

I had it done twice; first in 1999 when I was 38 and then again a few years later. My sisters and my dad paid for it as they had just got it done on themselves and I was broke and they didn’t want to leave me out. It worked for me, I had worn glasses since third grade but I was able to see perfectly without glasses after the operations.

If I had gotten the surgery when I was a kid I think my life would have been turned out totally different. I always felt glasses had held me back in life when it came to both sports and girls. In sports I had done pretty well, even with glasses but PE could be a nightmare as getting hit in the face or the head would cause my glasses to fall off which was always embarrassing.

Nowadays, wearing glasses is a fashion statement and nothing to be ashamed of but back when I was in elementary school wearing glasses had a stigma like being the only fat kid in class. Even class had its token fat kid and the kid who wore glasses. It really affected my self esteem, I was very self conscious about my looks with glasses. Girls back then didn’t like the guys with glasses, you are almost automatically seen as a geek if you wore glasses. Wearing glasses made me feel very unattractive. In high school it was more of the same.

But I was pretty cool for a guy who wore glasses, that’s about the only good thing I told myself about myself. I had cool friends and I did cool stuff and I was OK at sports despite it.

Anyways, I had worn contacts in my twenties and thirties, off and on but the surgery was a godsend. Before getting the actual surgeon they doctors office showed a short video on the dangers and possible bad consequences of getting the surgery done but it seemed worth the risk. Now, I usually don’t even need reading glasses though I keep a pair in my car.

I had it done in 2002. I went from legally blind to 20/20. I kid you not.

But the effects only last so long if you get it younger like I did. So as of a few years ago I need either another surgery to touch it up or glasses. I chose glasses

I can see without my glasses, but can’t read smaller traffic signs or see the tv clearly. I also need close up glasses.

So I have progressive lenses that enable me to see close, medium far, and far.

Needing a mild prescription sure beats being legally blind!

I had lasik in 2016 in one eye, my other eye has perfect vision. Now my vision is still perfect in both eyes.

I had a laser assisted cataract surgery on my right eye just a couple weeks ago. It was extremely fast and completely painless. So, my answer is “sort of”, but not really. In addition to removing the cataract, it also can improve your vision with the new lens, so its kind of a “two-for”

My only regret is going cheap and only getting the nearsighted lens. There was a more expensive lens that could correct near vision as well. I expected more improvement in right eye up close because I thought the fog of the cataract was a big part of vision issues. Once cataract was removed this proved to be wrong. Up close is still garbage in that eye, even without the fog. Distance vision is much better and everything is brighter than even my left eye which also has a less severe cataract.

Oh well, I ordered reading glasses. Hopefully they will help.

My lasik was painless and took a few mins. Just a laser in the eyes.

I’m supposed to get my cataract removed. Kind of scared tbh.
