I was vegetarian for 12 years,as thinking “Meat Is Murder” as Morrissey of The Smiths said.Last 6 years I was eating only chicken, but after the operation last year I became anemic,so all the doctors said “red meat”.Then I started eating meat, until 3 days ago,I decided nothing but the fish,as my blood tests are normal.Just wondering if someone is vegetarian for long time and what he/they eat. It’s not usual in serbia to people being vegetarians.
I used to be vegetarian for a few years. Biggest mistake I made was not supplementing b12. I am not a big fan of meat so at the time it was easy. There are a lot of nutrients that r hard to absorb from plants/grains that r easy to get from meat. I recommend finding a good quality supplement
I was a pescatarian for a long time but during hospital stays it just seemed like a pain to do. I did lots of smoothies and salads. I ate a lot of tuna and salmon and shrimp. Tons of rice. Sushi was a treat. Baked potatoes was also a favorite. Evening snacks were usually oatmeal and cinnamon toast.
When I was "doing time"at hospital,i used to trade sausages for cheese, and eat a lot of bread instead.I consider that no one can be vegetarian in hospital or institution
I could never be a vegetarian Zoa.
I enjoy consuming meat too much, although I’m not a big steak eater.
No worry, all my family are carnivors’s.Only don’t like to suggest that Imust eat everything.I know that children must eat fats, meat as I did. It’s allright @Wave,truth Is that I fasted as church thing, but now that i don’t go often,I fast only two days a week. Then i eat fish.
I’m a moderate vegan - have been for 10 years or so. So far, so good. My weight is good.
Yes,I put a weight during meat"honeymoon"
I went strict vegan for 4 years. then was hospitalized and started eating meat again for about a year. made the switch back to vegetarian, this time with cheese, a couple months ago. im not as strict as last time, I have fish when I go out to restaurants, about once a month or so.
grocery shopping is cheaper now. I only eat about 1000 calories a day to maintain my weight. so that helps keep my grocery bill down
in my daily diet I get 1 serving of fruit, 8 servings of veggies including beans and potatoes, some cheese and a couple servings of seeds.
Here where I live, its very expensive to be vegan.
yeah fresh produce gets expensive. just to feed myself I probably spend $50usd/week, it used to cost me $80 week, but not anymore that I went to one meal a day.
I’m a committed vegetarian for last few decades on and off and now for the last three years or so. Works for me just fine!
I was vegan for 6 years. Now I am a vegetarian
Vegetarian here always have been
For me I go through phases I suppose. This is when I eat like a normal person should. I tend to not eat much.I go through these phases of eating nothing but junk food, I have a sweet tooth. And then I go through phases where I eat nothing but fruit and vegetables. I really depends on my mood I suppose, I wouldn’t consider myself to be vegetarian, but honestly I prefer eating healthier these days. The only sugar I really consume anymore is the little bit I use in my coffee. I was vegetarian for 6 years when I dated this girl from Russia. She’s the one who introduced me to the lifestyle.Though I can’t say I ever took a liking to tofu. I did feel better, in terms of physical health. Fish and chicken have become a big part of my diet. I don’t consider either one to be “meat”. Poultry is not meat in my opinion
I’ve been vegetarian over 20 years and I’m fine.
Only been lacto ovo vegetarian for a year and a half. But it has worked great sofar.
I used to be a vegetarian for a few years then I slowly started adding things back in. I still do not touch pork, not even chicken sausage in a pork casing. Pork upsets my stomach considering it takes longer to digest than any other meat, I also like pigs too much. I just can’t do pork.
