i am too worried about its side effects …like sexual dysfunction…sedation and
weight gain…cuz my pdoc might prescribe that 2 me…dont know…
.any one still using it and have good result…
I have used respirdal many times, always seems to help with my postive symtoms.
The draw back to it is I completly loose my sex drive and motivation. It’s good to get out of phychosis.
I also gained weight on it and my lipids went threw the roof aswell as my tryglisrides
I’m not on Risperdal anymore, but it was a darn good med for me - after I started taking it I went into remission for five years. After my relapse years later, I resumed taking it, but stopped for no good reason, then when I was in hospital they put me on amisulpride instead, which is also good. Had no complaints with Risperdal, didn’t notice any side effects, except low sex drive and lactation. Didn’t bother me too much, because I am a woman.
I am on risperdal consta, have been since May 2009. For me it works better for what are called positive symptoms than negative ones. It does little to help with my emotional/social problems(but that is probably true of antipsychotics in general).
I am on Risperdal, have been on it for something like 7 years or more - it helps my moods and positive symptoms - delusions and hallucinations.
It has a lot of sexual side effects and hormonal (prolactin) related side effects - but all AP’s have side effects
I was on risperdal and very stable. I couldn’t handle not having my sex drive or having male breast growth so I switched to latuda. Now im having worse problems with akasthia but I don’t want to go back to risperdal the weight gain lack of sex drive and such sucks. I’ll only go back if I have to
