Any mental illness related, or similar Movies and TV?

Hello

Could you please share your movies and TV, that are mental illness related, or at conceptional level can be translated in to it. I found myself calm at the time I’m watching them, it definitely inspires me in one way or another. Doesn’t have to be super strict, but no western bananas either.

My short lists that I’ve watched already, and rewatched or in process doing it again.

Twelve Monkeys 1995 (Probably one of the best movies)
Mr. Robot 2015 (If not the best TV show entirely period)
The Accountant 2016 (Outstanding movie)

No spoilers please on anything please, especially Mr Robot.

Thank you for sharing.

P.S Offtopic I use torrents, torrents are legal to download. https://unblocked.lol (Just deal with advertisement windows quickly, sometimes intimidating but not that harmful as long you not complying with installing anything offered)

that site seems sketchy

I like the tv show Firefly, and the movie Serenity that continues the series. One of the characters, River Tam, is a schizophrenic badass. It is the most relatable portrayal of schizophrenia I’ve ever seen.

Some ISP decided to block sites like piratebay, place is good to still reach out those websites. Just advertisement feels to intimidating.

Nice one Ninja. Thank you.

The soloist, a beautiful mind.
Mr brooks. If you type in list of films with mental illness it comes up on Wikipedia.

I loved Jesse Eisenberg in Batman v Superman, he reminded me of what I was like when I was prodromal. And of course there is that scene where Amy Adams tells him “You’re psychotic”, and he responds with something along the lines of “that’s a 3 syllable word for any thought too big for little minds”. That scene was gold.

Love and Mercy. It was a good movie, but it was very triggering and anxiety provoking.
Also, Benny and Joon is good and also adorable. One scene in particular made me anxious, and feeling triggered, but overall a good film.

The more the better, thanks.

Gold it is, agreed

I liked Love and Mercy. Brian Wilson is a very fascinating person. I love his music. He was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder according to that film. And he’s in his seventies and still makes music. I actually love some of the songs from his latest album.

Yes, he’s great and I also love The Beach Boys.
I can relate to him a lot, in that film.

It’s interesting because a lot of mentally ill artists are great but they make a lot of sad music. But he always made positive, hopeful music.

Yes, he always made happy, fun tunes. I also like his work with sounds and even animal noises. The man is so creative.

Wow! I just looked at the trailer to Love and Mercy. It looks like a beautiful film, in the trailer at least.

I rate it 4/5. Highly recommend it, however sensitive people might find some scenes anxiety-provoking.

Is it still in theatres Butterflybrains?

I am intensely interested in it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I am a little sensitive, but more so to horror movies that deal with spiritual stuff.

I read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies that have a cult following. (Cult following meaning - they’re often weird and have a very specific following).

No, it’s been out for a while. It’s not on Netflix, either. I watched in online somehow, and I can’t remember how, sorry.
It’s just provoking because he freaks out and loses his ■■■■ in some scenes, also just the simulations of sounds he hears bothered me.

P.S. I think you can purchase it on youtube?

Oh no worries, . Yeah I remember watching the Soloist and the simulation sounds in that movie were a little scary.

Thank you for the information .:+1:
