Any good med for sleeping? (Non benzodiazapine)

So Im on Invega and Lexapro combo and I am looking something to make me drowsy that wouldn’t knock me out or make me groggy in the mmorning. I tried quetiapine, but I get restless legs from it and it feels really weird. I have tried amitryptiline addition and I was sleeping fine, but it caused major sexual problems. Melatonin knocks me out, but doesnt make me sleep long on it. Valerian root is useless for me. I have tried trazadone previously, but im afraid to get serotonin syndrome combined with lexapro. Benzodiazapines help, but I am lethargic the next day. Anything you can recommend?

Why does it have to be a pill that puts you asleep? Don’t you think there is something wrong with that?

Because Invega causes insomnia and lexapro also causes insomnia and I am pretty stable on those and don’t suffer from various severe side effects. I have tried everything in my disposal: 0 caffeine intake, waking up at 5 am, going to the gym working out and getting physically exhausted, tried healthy diet, no smoking or phone screen before bed. Just tell me what else I can try without any pills. Thats why I am asking for a specific medication that would make me slightly drowsed that I would fall asleep within few hours. If I really wanted to use sleep aid, I got plenty of xanax, but I am asking for a better alternative

I take a total of 100 mg of hydroxyzine as needed for sleep. It’s a strong antihistamine and is not addictive.

since melatonin knocks u out but wears off, have u tried a slow release long lasting version of melatonin?

Trazodone helped me but i hated how quick that ■■■■ worked it was like i fell off. Cliff to zonk out

I wouldn’t worry to much about combining trazadone with lexipro. Plenty of people do it without any issue. The doses of trazadone they prescribe for sleep are pretty low so I wouldn’t fret giving it a shot. Another option would be putting together a sleep stack if you have the expendable income. Also there’s the ambien or quiviviq route. I take trazadone, l-theanine, and a stack supplement with melatonin. Also in the past I’ve personally taken trazadone with an ssri and had no issue. It’s not impossible that you develop serotonin syndrome combining the two but it is highly unlikely.

You probably know this already but if you do go the supplement route avoid l-tryptophan and 5 htp. Those on the other hand could definitely cause ss in combination with an ssri.

Seroquel works wonders for sleep, at least for me. I have insomnia but it always knocks me out for 12 hours. If you don’t want to sleep 12 hours I’d try something else though.

I used to take clozapine for sleep. Now I don’t take anything and wake up anywhere between midnight and 7 am.

Don’t care as I feel less sleepy during the day than when I was sleeping 12 hours on clozapine.

You should give it some time for get used to it to invega.i used to have insomia problem but later on treatment its past.nıw i m sleeping like babies at least 11 hours without extra meds.

If you wanna get to sleep, try a dose of Seraquol (Quetiapine). Its like marmite tho, you will either love it or hate it. People say it gives them restless legs, but im tolerant to the stuff.
