Any experiences with diazepam

My psych doctors prescribed me some diazepam eight years ago but I had to stop taking diazepam because I had some major side effects such as losing my memory and so I stopped this med, and as years have passed I have noticed that I am okay with my current antipsychotics and I do not need diazepam.

When I was first diagnosed, I was give some Diazepam to take instead of drinking alcohol. They also gave me 20mg Olanzapine, which was so strong I never felt the effects of the Diazepam.

I’ve heard it can be addictive so I think you are much better off without it.

It’s saved me from some terrible anxiety. I only need to take a pill every couple of months if needed. I had to argue like heck for the pdoc to prescribe it to me. He only gives it if I need it and since I’m not using habitually the pdoc consented. Thank heavens. It’s great to have if things get tough.

I can take 15mg a day as PRN. They make it very hard to get in the UK and only a pdoc can prescribe it. I am not sure how much it helps, but I always have some spare just in case I need it.
