LS!
I have two laptops. A twelve years old Asus with Bang and Olufsen sound. It has an i7 processor but is real slow. I installed some expensive software on it: a dictionary, Office Professional. And I have a two year old 14 inch HP with 1128 GB memory. I needed memory for my music, Apple iTunes with 100 GB music. If you buy a new laptop my advice is to check whether you want to carry it around. Does it fit into your bag and is it not too heavy?
go on ebay reburbish that great deals, get an asus i got one 1tb 8gb 3.0ghz for 250, you just do searches. good luck.
Laptops nowadays are not manufactured with quality components or for longevity. Lenovo T or X class is probably the best in the PC market longevity-wise. With Apple you go for that operating system anyway, but even their desktops I hear are using cheap components nowadays. In any case donât expect a heavily used recent laptop to last a long time.
What breaks first in a laptop is the charging plug from my experience. I had a Toshiba break like that after 10 years. Now new laptops can also charge via Type C USB. But yeah I love Lenovo Thinkpads, theyâre military grade and sturdy lol
They used to be sturdier when IBM made them. And that nice classic IBM thinkpad style keyboard⌠Toshiba used to make toughbooks. Not sure if they still do, but those were meant for truly heavy (ab)use.
Yeah, use cash, a credit or debit card, or a check.
Yes their huge power plug never broke, my brother had one for more than 15 years, I donât know what he did with it.
I have an Asus laptop and it worked for a few years and now it isnât really working very good. Iâd recommend a different brand than Asus.
Whatâs wrong with it? Slow?
The File Explorer button doesnât work anymore. It has a water mark for Windows saying it isnât a valid copy (even though it is). The antivirus doesnât really work anymore. It has other problems too I canât think of.
It also kind of freezes when you use the right button on the mouse.
You need to format it and reinstall windows. There is no physical damage. Its just software, you probably got a virus or spyware.
I guess I could try it. How do I reformat? It doesnât have a disk drive.
Okay, I will try it. It will suck to loose all my files though.
Just copy them to another USB key or external hard drive?
i havenât read through the thread, but if a person just wants to surf the net and have basic functionality, you can get a google chrome for 80 bucks refurbished, 100 bucks on black friday new, or low hundred something new.
They are about a terabyte so I could try an external hard drive.
Does it have Microsoft Office? Does it work with it? Windows has way more programs but yeah its good for 80$.
hey yeah @aziz âŚmy current laptop is very slow âŚits hard to change tabs, can take up to 2 minutes âŚdoes that mean it has a virus or is there some way to stop it being so slow
