Yes, I was recommended to have tic tacs with me for the taste component. Inexpensive and compact.

Yes my psychiatrist told me about it but instead of finding five things etc the techniques is just to:
- look at or watch something pleasing
- smell an essential oil
- listen to soothing music (in my case jazz or classical)
- rub your hands together or rub your feet on the ground
- taste something like a tic tac

I actually just learned this from a therapist only a few months ago, and I’ve been seeing therapists for years.

I take Trileptal for anxiety. My psychiatrist noticed my anxiety. I was unaware of it.

This and breathing help me when I’m having a panic attack or my symptoms are acting up, thankfully. But the panic comes from my symptoms, so a two-in-one thing.
