Seems like I'm having an intense anxiety attack

Hey all, I’m here paranoid and extremely anxious. It’s a horrible anxiety, i can’t seem to take it,. This is wayyy too much anxiety, any tips!!! I’m desperately trying to fix this, i already drank tea I’m just so anxious

Is it social anxiety or stress?

Lay down for about 30 minutes with your eyes closed.

Cut down on coffee or quit it altogether.

Just relax where you’re most comfortable, maybe put on some nice music or try distracting yourself with a favorite movie/show.

List everything you see hear and smell

Do you have any PRNs like hydroxyzine or something? When I get anxiety that bad I just go to bed.

Try some grounding techniques. Holding a piece of ice in your fist. Taking 10 slow, focused breaths. Do boxed breathing - inhale for 4 and hold for 4, exhale for 4 and then hold for 4. Repeat. Try clapping and rubbings your hands together. Step outside and notice the temp of the air. Do a breathing exercise outside. Hopefully one of these helps. Theres a lot more out there, you can google grounding exercises for lists.

It sounds kind of cliche, but in these situations I try to find something to distract me. TV, video game, YouTube. If that doesn’t work, I recommend laying down in your bed or a recliner with your lights off. Good luck bruther :saluting_face:

@Mars I took some hydroxyzine and benadryl. I’m just going to take it easy and not worry.

@Pickpink Deep breathing is such a good one for me, doing that now I feel a lot of stress fade some.

I use a talk down for anxiety on you tube it helps me sometimes.
