The only one I know and have been using is to breathe slowly in my nose and out my mouth. It helps.
Sometimes it helps me to say to myself, “I’m ok. I’m having some anxiety, but I’ve been through worse before and this will pass too. I will get through it.”
Square breathing: Inhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds. Repeat.
Focusing on the sensations of what anxiety feels like in my body. Being curious about what it feels like. This helps me stay grounded. Otherwise my mind takes my anxiety and spins it into paranoid and fearful thoughts.
Take a hot shower or bath. I had bad anxiety and a hot bath used to help.
Medication that is calming but taken carefully .
Try to sleep it away.
With anxiety I found I was thinking negatively about something and I started to make positive thoughts to the opposite effect. It worked and I got off the benzos.
Pears help me, but they might not work for you
An ice pack on the back of the neck or in the armpits to shock you out of it can work.
Relaxing spa music and mindfulness exercises can help
Aromatherapy helps too
I was just gonna ask that lol
I find strength training and walking helps me but not enough rn I love doing archery it’s calming too
I find coffee is worsening my anxiety I’m now drinking more warmed up milk instead of coffee because at this point I’m gonna end up back on more clonazapam and if I drink less coffee like I did on the roadtrip I find my anxiety was significantly better if not nonexistent
Maybe cutting down on coffee might help someone else
I agree with @AwesomeFisherman coffee makes anxiety worse for some people
I would suggest green, chamomile or sleepytime tea(which actually has valerian root in it) and add L-theanine powder to it. It works wonders for me for nightime anxiety.
It depends on what kind of anxiety it is. If it’s just garden variety anxiety it should be transient. It’ll pass with a little time and some TLC. If it’s an anxiety disorder you’re gonna have to do a lot of hard work to get past it.
Since I stopped cigarettes,less stress,voices,and more relaxed.
Besides boxed breathing you can also 5-4-3-2-1 awareness exercises.
ChatGTP explains it better than I can do:
The 5-4-3-2-1 awareness technique is a grounding exercise used to help reduce anxiety by focusing on your senses and bringing attention to the present moment. It is a popular strategy in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Here’s how it works:
1. 5: Look around and name five things you can see.
2. 4: Identify four things you can touch.
3. 3: Listen for three things you can hear.
4. 2: Notice two things you can smell.
5. 1: Focus on one thing you can taste.
This method is effective for helping individuals step out of anxious or overwhelming thoughts by shifting focus to immediate sensory experiences. It’s often used in moments of distress or when a person feels disconnected or stressed.
I use a very strong passionflower tea, i find it better than valerian, but you have to use three times as much as the say and let it… what is is called in english? steep? for 20 minutes before drinking.
Besides that it can be calming to assure oneself that every sensation is passing, also anxiety
