I have been on amisulpride 300mg/day for about a year and a half. Before it was 400mg/day for sometime. I didn’t notice any change in sexual functioning at first. I used to masturbate to porn. Then in December 2013 I started NoFap. You can google that. From that time on there was no longer any porn. My sexual drive dropped. At first I thought it was because I have not been watching any porn. About a few days back when I was on 320th or something day of NoFap I thought of skipping afternoon dose of amisulpride. I didn’t feel sleepiness that afternoon but I did have strong urge to watch porn and masturbate. While on regular dose of amisulpride I didn’t have any urge to watch porn or masturbate. No libido.
So any of you guys have problem with antipsychotics regarding your sexual health? Any antipsychotics which won’t cause sexual dysfunction?
So what you mean is the meds stopped you having dysfunctional sex? How has that stopped you from having a healthy sex life?
Invega Sustenna/Risperidone and maybe Abilify definitely affects my sex drive/functions… I don’t know if its because I still have invega sustenna in my system or the Abilify but my sex drive and orgasm feeling is definitely affected at the moment…
Im male by the way and been off 50mg invega sustenna 120 days and am on Abilify 10mg right now
I started taking Abilify a few months ago and I have less libido on it than risperidone. What the hell?
Geodon, Abilify and Latuda are less likely than others to cause erectile dysfunction and difficulty reaching orgasm in males, I know this because I am a guy and have taken a couple of those. Zyprexa killed my erections, I had to get it back up to have sex with this girl and it was embarrassing, she knew I was on heavy psych meds though. I ended up being able to reach orgasm but it was definitely not normal for me to just go limp like that.
But yeah the three I mentioned are less likely according to the books, the others are not so good about libido and sexual functioning. I am on Geodon these days and it all works normally. Stimulants help, like caffeine, energy drinks, not amphetamines or cocaine not those kinds of stimulants.
When I first started taking Abilify my libido returned at full force. The med can cause hypersexuality—it was intense. But then it went away.
Heavy affinity to d2 receptors cause this. Look for a more novel antipsychotic. Seroquel and abilify are supposed to be good. And ironically so is clozaril. Risperidone particulary os poor on sexual function
This is just hopeless
