I love eating tonnes of protein. Doctor made me stop because my bloodwork showed it was too hard on my liver and had started to impact liver function.
@insidemind it is hard
@shutterbug Iām sorry
I wouldnāt enjoy putting in the effort and not having it work.
@Pixiedustqueen my stepdad is on my diet lazy donāt eat many sweets and still lost weight but it takes time (he also reversed his diabetes and grew back his hair)
It is rough trying to get your protein in sometimes being vegetarian!!!
@Pixiedustqueen being vegetarian was hard for me and made me sickā¦ But I also ate a lot of pastaā¦ Iād suggest beans
Wow. Reversing diabetesā¦ thatās some positive stuff.
@Pixiedustqueen I know and doctorās push the food pyramid but gluten is turned into sugar in the body causing blood sugar to rise causing for patients to have to insert more insulin into their body itās a vicious cycle
Ohh there is a pasta with added protein in it, I wonder if @shutterbug would enjoy it XD
Never gonna be vegetarian, just not going to consume 50 to 100 ounces of animal protein in a day in the future. I did lose weight like crazy while I was, however.
@shutterbug meat is just to tasty
Do you mind clarifyingā¦ lolā¦ did you lose a lot of the weight eating that much protein or were you once veg?
Edit** you must have meant all the protein as youāll NEVER go vegetarianā¦ gotchaaaa gotcha
Meat protein. I like roasted vegetables, but, with meat.
Delusion time: in a past life, my mom probably ( most likely) emailed that Harvard guy and my mom tried to get me on ketogenic diet. I was 10x worse at the time. Lived with grandma, so history was different. He Maybe even texted her. Never found out except I got schizoaffective disorder. He said I had that. I was in constant denial and disbelief. Felt the government gave me schizophrenia despite no evidence, just memories or feelings. So what? Probably thought I was a time traveler and believed we lived in the matrix and Iām stuck on repeatā¦was told I always had schizophrenia. The guy on TV or projector said thatā¦
Anyways, I wanted to go to McLean or whatever but found out itās for rich people and Harvard students, which I am not. Plus, you dont need to go there to get excellent treatment. Probably pissed my regular psychiatrist off. They are competent enough. I had disbelief and I was originally diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder anyways. Full circle? My mom believes in this stuff. She got really into keto. Lost a lot of weight, back pain stopped, and her inflammation decreased. It may have helped me, it might have not. I dont remember at all. I think it didā¦but that diet is a pain in the ass. You have to grow up in a normal household for that stuff to work. My stepfather disrespects my mom. My mom is broke. Maybe in the future I will try it. 5+ years from now, hopefully. Iām not really a health nut and Iām more of a microwave kind of guy since the illness hit in 2011. I heard some people hire nutritionists but not sure if Medicaid would cover it. My dads insurance would never do that not even give uber rides. They laughed at me practically when I called.
I could go on for a thousand years. Iāve met thousands of people in my past lives if you include near infinite amount of past lives. I rather not talk about people. Thatās one of my rules. I prefer a normal life. Itās not right.
I think science or mental health is lagging. I was cured a few times out of billions of lives. Probably in the future but it aināt profitable for most. Probably military has the cure in my opinion. If not, they probably will cure it in the future. I was given pills. Not sure they even worked. But if I was cured, I will feel great and achieve great things for myself.
:End delusion.
wheat is toxic to my brain so no wheat is a good thing
I tried keto diet, but I felt no difference. It still made me lose a lot of weight in a short period of time.
I donāt know if it alleviates psychotic symptoms but since I was on a keto diet for 23days, my sleep amount significantly decreased. I sleep for 5hours now only but feel not too much tired. And lost weight too for a short period of time. But after the diet, I will increase consumption of carbs to moderate amount because keto does not perfectly fit for a woman.
Ok guysā¦Iāve been slaving away at the ketogenic diet for a year. Iāve been refining the diet, researching it, and tweaking it. It is HIGHLY effective at treating my schizophrenia. It removed severe anxiety within a month. It made symptoms much easier to ignore in the second month. I had more energy and could handle symptoms much better. This is with a keto diet used for weight loss. I got on a different keto diet used for the treatment of epilepsy. I am still in the adaptation phase, but WOW! The results have been phenomenal so far. I can ignore voices easily. I have moments when my delusions go away which is a miracle. Iām not ruminating. My focus is outstanding. Im only half way through adaptation and the results have been absurd. There are moments when I can think. My mind is coming back. My verbal IQ is through the roof. I started doing poetry which I havenāt done since I was a kid. My energy is increasing. I could go on for a couple of pages really.
I can answer any questions. Check out the keto subreddit on Reddit for help getting started. I got in touch with The Charlie Foundation for the therapeutic ketogenic diet. I got good results with nutritional keto (keto for weight loss). Iād suggest starting with nutritional keto. Then, setup one appointment per month with the Charlie foundation.
Disclaimer: for some people, symptoms get worse during the adaptation phase. The adaptation phase can be 6 weeks to 3 months. It does get better. Make sure to work with a health professional though.
This is interesting. I reckon that it works for some people and not others because schizophrenia is really many conditions.
I would be tempted to try it, but I donāt have any breakthrough symptoms to measure against - my abilify blocks all positive symptoms.
