No that’s not a good idea. It needs to be reduced in dose gradually that’s what my psychiatrists say

Your psychiatrist knows how and by how much to reduce it to avoid psychosis and withdrawal symptoms.

I just began amisulpride, 200 mg, to fight my depression / negative symptoms.
I’m on amisulpride 200mg - which is my minimum dose. I’ve tried stopping it in the past several times with bad results. Within three days to a week, I got symptoms again and had severe anxiety and muscle tension in jaw and other places.
If you want to reduce it speak with your pdoc or reduce it gradually. Just now you relapse and it take a bit of time to stabilise on it again.
my doctor downgraded from 800 mg to 400 mg. good idea for 1 week 400mg then 200mg? the goal is 200mg
Your doctor should tell you how to do it safely. Usually you titrate down pretty slowly…so no idea of that particular medicine but suddenly isn’t a good idea for most psych meds.
next to it I am taking seroquel XR 200 mg ot so psychosis may not come back
I’ve ever tried “dry cut-off” of amisulpride. Within a week I’ve experienced major anxiety and psychotic positive symptoms. Try not to reduce on your own without medical supervision. That is the best advice I can give you.
