Am I in the wrong, or what?

Sorry- I feel like I keep making topics that are basically pointless. Should I start my own complaint type thread or whatever?

Anyways… so, my mom goes back home soon :sob:

I’m wanting to get a hotel with the husband in the city (yes he came back home) ya know, cause my mom would be here to watch the kids and who knows when we will get another break.

BUT, the husband is acting like him, me AND the kids should go somewhere this weekend together

Am I a total bitter grouch for not wanting to go somewhere with the kids?!

Or is it understandable that I’d want a break for a bit?

100% understandable. You deserve a break!

Thanks! I feel like I NEED a break lol

Your husband kind of pulls something similar on the regular.

Even before you had your baby together.

You would make plans, and he’d take those plans and involve only himself and his son.

I don’t get it.

Yes, you deserve a break.

No, you are not in the wrong.

He’s the one with the issue.

He’s being silly…

Does he get that he is gonna miss out on some mindblowing nookie? Hard to do The Thing with youngsters around. They’re either so young they interrupt at the wrong moment or old enough they hear everything and have QUESTIONS after.

:joy: I don’t know about the “mind blowing” part but yeah, nookie was definitely in the plans, for sure lol.

I don’t know what’s up with him.

@Charles_Foster

Thanks for backing me up!

Like, what? Lol…

I don’t know, I think he thinks I rely on my mom too much with our toddler and that I should do more… but like come on, my moms leaving soon- why not take advantage of a night out while we can?!

Yeah that’s what I find silly… The lack of priorities for the nookie

I don’t like the attitude from him.

You’re an excellent mom and you need breaks.

How can you rely on your mom “too much” when she doesn’t even live in town?

Right?!!

Plus! A night out on the town! Like, in a city we haven’t spent much time in WITHOUT kids lol

I wish I could help you more
But you definitely need a break

It’s totally understandable that you need a break.

Occasional breaks from the kids are good for any parent’s mental health

Can you meet in the middle and have 1 or 2 days & nights alone and 1 with the kids?

I don’t think you should have to do that but I’m trying to come up with a solution to make you both happy.

@LilyoftheValley

Thanks for the suggestion.

We were literally just gonna go for 1 night and come back the next day :sob: and next weekend we’re planning to go somewhere with the kids…

So, I don’t know what the hesitation or deal is…

Oh! He’s being ridiculous then.

You need a break and you only have a short window while your mom is still in town and available to.take care on the kids.

Can you book the hotel and tell him you’e going with or without him?

Hah…. That really does sound like something I’d do….

Anyways, I convinced the husband to go but NOW that he’s seen the prices for the night, he doesn’t want to again…

Which I can accept and understand more that he doesn’t want to pay that much, I guess
