After over 5 years, no longer diagnosed sza

My psychiatrist appointment was today. Was rather long. I explained my troubles on and off medication as well as symptoms.

I have been diagnosed over the years by over 5 different doctors with schizoaffective bi-polar type. Today it was changed to major depressive with psychotic tendancies.

We were just about through with the appointment and they were going to send me home with no medication. Last minute she consulted with a collegue and they decided on no antidepressant and 10mg abilify. I have decided to take the abilify only if necessary, and currently do not feel it is. I believe at my very core I will if not now, some day be medication free.

Crazy. :o

I’m psychotic depression as well and I take both antipsychotic and antidepressants. It’s a good combo for me.

Ah I see. I took my abilify, I think I like no antidepressant. It has paradoxal effect on me, makes me more depressed I think

Will keep a close eye out though

I think my diagnosis is changing now too. I was diagnosed with sza bipolar type before as well. Me and my therapist agreed that i dont need to know the diagnosis as its become a source of stress for me.

That’s good news.

At least you now have an answer :relaxed:

I think they sometimes change diagnosis when symptoms improve. I think this means you’re doing better.

I was diagnosed sza when I was on Latuda but put back on sz/anxiety when I was put back on Invega. I do have depression at times but the guy who diagnosed sz/anxiety me said schizophrenia is depressing within itself.
