Ablify vs vraylar

Which one is considered lighter in terms of symptom impact — aripiprazole or cariprazine? Speaking generally about potency and effects: I’ve used both, but I still can’t decide. Aripiprazole activates me more, while cariprazine — even at a low dose — makes me sleepy; for example, 3 mg of cariprazine suits me quite well, but I do get slightly depressed and experience some mild self-blame.

Aripiprazole 10 mg causes other side effects — it flushes fluids from my body and its effects seem to wear off faster.

Honestly, in the long run, I don’t know which is better for me, but of course I’d prefer the lowest possible dose.

Currently, I’ve also returned to fluoxetine (Prozac), taking 20 mg in the morning.

Sometimes I consider going back to the nootropic pramistar, but it really used to give me headaches and some stomach discomfort.

I take both of these medications. I take 17.5 mgs Abilify with 4.5 mgs Vraylar.Vraylar helps with cognition somewhat, Abilify doesn’t. I have no side effects mostly from this combination.

I’ve found in my experience that Abilify had stronger antipsychotic effects than Vraylar, but that neither one was particularly effective for me. I was on Abilify injections in 2018.

Abilify stimulants me in small doses. I take 0.3mg every 3-4 months. I kinda love it

Had akathisia on only 3.75 mg Abilify (1/8 of the highest recomended dose). Vraylar 6 mg (the highest recomended dose)? - zero akathisia!

I think abilify and invega are the worst antipsychotics out there

People seem to make a big deal out of strength of meds

Is the truth that although different the changes are negligible?

Hmm idk i find that when i use stronger more potent medicine, they actually do work better but cause more side effects

I was on 20mg of Abilify at one point and it gave me the worst akathisia I’ve had from any AP. It seems to work for a lot of people though.
