Tomorrow I will be receiving my first shot of abilify. How have people’s experiences been with it? Does it work better than just the pills? Are there any side effects that the pills don’t have?

The shot shouldn’t make a difference to pills because it’s the same med, just the way of taking it is different.

I had the experience that it felt like the dosage got low to the end of the month, but my doc said that’s not possible. So I might been over sensitive ,:smiley:

but the levels of the med in your blood are more stable on depot than with pills. so it is different taking the pills or getting the depot.

I take the pills. Im only on 5mg so I don’t really notice a difference but they keep me sane

I was on Abilify Maintena 400mg every 3 weeks once and it made me anxious and eyes fixated in the ceiling pretty often
I’m not saying it’s a bad med for others

Works okay for me, I’m on the injection
