Does the side effects of the Abilify are the same if this medicine is injectable instead of pills?
I just wanted to bump this up to the top to see if anyone answers. I just started 10mg oral today. I asked about the injectable yesterday at my appt. The pdoc was very vague about the differences between the two.
I’ve taken oral Abilify in the past, on the injection now, but I don’t get side effects from either. I’d say the oral form was more effective for me, though.
Waiting on my 3rd injection after 8 or 10 years on the abilify pill. Noticed a slight increase in paranoia and residual voices the week before my injection, possibly because its only been 2 injections. Im in the clinic waiting on my 3rd injection.
Also, can’t lift my arm last my neck without pain for a few days.
Recommend injections if you’re like me and you constantly forget to take the pill.
I prefer injections and I’m hoping that it just needs to take time for my brain to adjust and for the medicine to build up in my system
Of course, I was off for a few months on the pill so I’m starting from scratch since there was little medicine in my system right before the injections.
Good luck!
Asked the nurses just now and they said there’s no difference with side effects! Also in the glutes is less pain, fyi
Hi everyone,
thanks for the answers. I have this possibility open for injectable Abilify, since I had a controversial experience with pills but this medication is still very effective, I am researching more about side effects and also the way to find counter measures against them. I worry about having to much anxiety and restless legs or being just too restless, but then there is something very important for me gastrointestinal problems… With high dosage I simple smell very stinky with movements in gut all the time, we can say it is flatulence ok, but the gas is different like a different chemical that might exist due excessive fermentation. Good to know you do not have this. I am ok on paliperidone, but suffering from depressive thoughts and lack of initiative. When I tried Abilify firstly it changed everything from the way I used to do artwork, to go out and even the way I used to drive (faster), I was very positive but restless and thought projected more devoted to the future events. My question now is if I can support the restless effect and if perhaps probiotics might help with the process in gut. Since the tolerance was not perfect with pills I am considering if it is too risky since after the chemical is in the body we can not interrupt it. So as your nurse say @HQuinn the problem in gut has to do with some change and not digestion because side effects are equal. Thanks a lot everyone, I hope you stay healthy as possible.
I heard that the shot gives u less side effects. I’m on haldol and I have no side effects.
It’s a more balanced distribution, only thing I notice on the injections is my feet are cramping up at times and getting charlie horses
