Ozempic is on backorder at my pharmacy. There’s a world wide shortage. My doctor wrote a prescription for Victozc, which is the closest thing to Ozempic, but someone on ODSP already told my doctor it wasn’t covered, he’s just trying again on the off chance it has been approved…I don’t have enough money kicking around to buy it.
I’m worried that, without the hunger suppression side-effect, I’ll go back to wanting to eat everything. I will have to eat like an angel starting next Monday. Veggies, veggies, and more veggies. My microwave’s door is getting hard to open, so I might end up having to use a metal steamer over an oven element. If the door eventually refuses to open, I’ll have to cook everything on the stove or in the oven, because I don’t want to spend any Christmas money on a new micro.
I only have 0.5 mg left in the pen. I usually take 1 mg each week.
I am so sorry you can’t get your much needed medication!! I know just how frustrating that is! I hope you can get the Ozempic very soon. I really hope that your pharmacy gets it back!!! @anon70814080
I ran into this issue with my adhd medication (vyvanse) and I am still in the thick of it. I’m currently taking a different adhd medication (adderall xr) in place of my original adhd medication and it works so so.
I guess that vyvanse is used for people who binge eat too and is being prescribed really a lot for that. So that could be why there is this shortage now. At least that’s what I’ve heard anyway.
