I. Can't. Stop. EATING

It’s driving me bananas…I’m ALWAYS hungry.

My AP is out of control. I’m always eating, always hungry. Anyone else experience this?

I’m on 300mg Abilify injections monthly.

On clozapine i only ate and slept but on abilify its not too much of a weight gain maybe its something worth mentioning to your doc. i hope they take you seriously. sounds like the seroquel wasnt as bad for you in this.

My appetite was enormous until my doctor prescribed me Ozempic.
It’s a once weekly injectable diabetes medication that helps curb your appetite so you end up losing weight.

So far I’ve lost approximately 20 pounds on it.

I am on an injection of 400mg of Abilify (Aripriprazole) every 4 weeks. The anti-psychotic medication does make one hungry but you can avoid the urge to eat by doing some other activity such as running 10km.

Hi Summer

I’m also on abilify.

I eat like scary.

Every week I plan to eat healthier the next week, but so far, it hasn’t happened.

My advice is don’t give up in planning to eat healthier the next week.

It is extremely extremely extremely difficult thing to do

But it is worth it.

Eat celery and carrots and other veg maybe with some light dressing. Dont eat chips and bread and noodles and carbs.

I never heard of it

i dont think i need it any time soon

glad to know theres better options too

did you consider contrave before finding this??? Contrave is scary to me but just wondering if you had any insight on it

its wellbutrin and naltrexone in one pill

supposedly the combination causes massive weight loss----should only be taken for a limited time

wellbutrin was psychosis inducing for me so id be scared

and my psychiatrist doesnt like “combo-meds”

One trick that worked for me, was to take a b-complex . That seemed to curb Abilify induced hunger pangs. It worked for another user here as well. It might be worth a go.

What type of b-complex? Like a vitamin?

Yes, a b-complex vitamin.

I haven’t got a huge appetite but the Seroquel I take brings my my metabolism to a halt and although I don’t gain weight it packs the fat all the wrong places I’ve got a tiny body with a huge stomach but I still prefere to be sane and dispropocial instead of slim and totally ballonas.

I’m surprised that Abilify did this to you, but the same med. can have different effects on different people. Talk to your pdoc and/or your therapist about it. Being overweight is a bad health condition.

I would think a B-complex vitamin would stimulate appetite. So, it is hard to argue with real experience, however.

I would think Abilify would increase sexual behavior and gambling in particular. I imagine every addictive behavior may be increased by Abilify, and eating can be addictive.
