Abilify and Impulse spending

I think I need to monitor my impulse spending. I’ve heard this can be an issue with Abilify and don’t want to lose control of my finances. In the last month I have bought from Amazon:

About $250 to $300 in miniatures and paints
A new computer chair
A new Comforter
A headband Magnifier for painting miniatures
Facemasks
Several hundred dollars in Christmas presents
A new PC mouse

And I was considering buying more Christmas presents. I feel like I am starting to enjoy it too much and I need to keep an eye on it. What do you think, does this seem excessive?

I spend so much money and then throw so much away.

I am on aripoprazole.

Especially food.

Spend like £300 on food per month

It looks alright except for the miniatures, 300$ is a lot for that. I thought it was an affordable hobby.

It’s a lot for 1 month for sure. I’d keep an eye on it.

The big ones are expensive. I think the 3 boxed dragons cost about $90 with tax.

I would make a monthly budget that includes a section on online spending, Christmas gifts and then stick to it. That would be my advice.

Maybe find a cheaper source for the miniatures and paint. I mean some things on Amazon are overpriced.

That’s true, I could shop around. The only issue might be that I get free shipping on Amazon and any differences in prices might be countered by extra shipping costs.

You can also try to find them locally like in store if thats possible. You wouldn’t have to pay for shipping.

That’s true. They probably have some in gaming shops.

Yeah costs mount up at Xmas, you’re not wrong. Spending money feels good! But if you’re actually using what you bought then that is a good sign. It’s when you buy things and never use them that you know you have a problem.

That’s a good point. Nothing I bought is just going to be sitting around.

I bought a new Bosch washing machine from AO 2 weeks ago when I was manic, our old washing machine was getting a bit noisy on the spin cycle but it would have lasted another year. I had to transfer £500 from my child’s savings account into my account to pay for it. I hope to put the money back eventually but I don’t get any disability benefits.

For me on Abilify it was much worse as I wasn’t even using what I bought. I have lots of clothes I bought I never used or only used once. Also more than 10 vapes, some I paid 100$CA. On Abilify I was so impatient and didn’t think about money value that I bought the same item several times. Once I bought a vape from Asia for 80$, it took too long to arrive so I bought the same vape again locally for 120$. Now I have two of the same vape.

Its actually more than 15 vapes and I only use 1.
