Abilify and Impulse spending

My spending is much better now off the Abilify but not perfect. At least now I mostly buy things on discount. This morning I bought a VPN service for 2yrs. I had a 76% off student discount plus 60% paypal cashback. It ended up to be 1.15$us/month so about 24$us for the 2yrs. My student discounts account still works and I am not a student anymore lol

On Abilify I had money left from previous work and I also had part time jobs. I also live at my parents so I didn’t pay rent or food. In the end I emptied my bank account and had like 2000$ debt on my Visa, 5000$ limit.

Yeah, I kind of am resisting the urge to shop for more miniatures and Christmas presents. I really want to do more shopping but don’t want to let it turn into a bad habit.

I guess that depends –

How does it compare to what you’ve spent in other months?
Are you going out of budget and relying on credit?

I’ve just started the process of applying for SSDI, and I am totally looking forward to mine!

No, I have lots of cash in reserves, but it is a definite uptick from previous months, that’s why I am noticing it and being cautious.

That’s smart.

Everyone gets a little spendy now and then, especially during the holidays, but it’s good that you’re noticing. Makes it easier to stop.

When I was manic/overspendy, I didn’t see anything wrong with constantly charging everything to my cards. It felt like free money with no consequences. (Except there were later consequences.)
