A1C pre diabetic not related to my diet

So new labs came back - not sure what’s going on - cut sugar for 6 mos.

Lost 15 lbs. A1C levels still 6.0 - still Pdiabetic

So mad. Also ALT liver levels skyrocketed to 113.

Not sure what is going on. Getting 2nd blood test next week to confirm #s

But doc is cutting Rosuvastatin to rule out how that might affect my ALT liver #s.

Also on 160mg Geodon and 80mg Latuda - Anyone think that may cause liver issues?

I don’t have access to my 2022 blood test results yet but I have acess to the 2021 one. My liver enzymes are almost all high, above 100. Internist dr said its my zyprexa back when I was on it but changing it to other APs did not make a difference as I had high liver enzymes way before sz and way before taking any meds. Back then they didn’t know the cause but after doing a liver ultrasound in 2018, it showed moderately severe fatty liver disease with no cirrhosis yet so Dr said to not worry.

2022 Dr said my liver enzymes are even higher and today I will be doing another liver ultrasound. My A1C was 5.8% in the 2021 blood test. 2022 Dr said its normal but idk the value yet.

Did you ever do a liver ultrasound?

I obviously don’t know the specifics of what’s going on with you, but I do know that I was taking Trintellix when my liver enzymes were high. My docs cut it out of med regimen on suspicion that it could be affecting them. My next couple liver enzymes tests were better and have remained better since, so medication is a possibility. Shouldn’t be too hard for you to look up potential liver issues related to specific meds on internet and consult with doc about them.

Geodon can alter liver levels. I was told this. So can latuda I believe. Prolly the combo. If that’s the only altered number though, that’s not terrible.

I think all antipsychotics have the potential to do this to some degree or another, but I am not an expert.

Thanks… No I haven’t had an ultrasound.

I’m glad it sounds common -
my specialist seems overly concerned making me overly nervous.

I’m worried I’ll be getting blood work every week for a while.

My psychiatrist has not chimed in yet so I will be getting more info from her perspective.
And since she upped my Latuda about 6 mos ago also.

I was on Lipitor and it screwed with my liver. I switched to rosuvastatin (crestor) and have been fine ever since.

If crestor is the problem perhaps you can do the opposite of me and try Lipitor.

Thanks, this would be best case.
