I think it does. Get rid of allsorts of problems, psyciatry being one of them with any luck

Goodbye goodbye
Nuclear war
The problems we have today are much milder than they have ever been at any time in history. For the first time in history the average person doesn’t have to spend all their time doing back breaking labor. Food is more abundant. Medical care is vastly better. They used to bleed people who had the flu. We have democracy so that we are not at the mercy of rapacious governments. Life is finally starting to get good for the average person. It isn’t a short, brutish struggle.
That depends on where you are in the world i’m sure millions would argue on that.
Sure - but generally for many people, if not most, things have gotten much better over the past 20 years. Look at China - what it was like for most people 20 years ago (working the fields and barely living) to now a large middle class.
And before - say 20+ years ago we actually did worry about a Nuclear war - now that really isn’t much of a concern.
Things have gotten better (though of course are still far from perfect).
True. At least in the developed world life is better. When I was young there were three billion people on this planet, and two-thirds of them lived in poverty. Now there are six billion, and one-third live in poverty. In both cases that means two-billion people live in poverty. There are promising signs of improvement, though.
I am not keen about corporations pushing farmers off their lands in other areas of the world in order to conduct business. Nor am I confident future generations will look back at this time and be proud. One generation has used up 14 generations worth of resources (WorldWatch).
Looking back humanity has a lot to be ashamed of. Why would this time be any different.
It’ll be a mixed bag.
IDK. Guess when reading Zinn’s History books, I heard the voice of champions loud and clear from the working classes of men, women and children who considered themselves opposites of the obsequious work force.
None of them would suggest a nuclear war.
Humanity has always been evil and corrupted but now we have the technology to destroy our planet. It’s time for action, time for change. And in some sense we’re doing that but need more obviously but will always need more. It’s hard to think otherwise than the world sucks when you’re depressed/psychotic but that’s the way it is I feel.
To me it’s the great race for mankinds survival, will we blow up the earth or move to other planets first???
??
Enlightenment is what we need. The ability to just live one day at a time, enjoy yourself. It’s tough but I take a step in that direction every daily. 2 steps forward, 1 step back often, but steps.
Ernie Regehr uses his work at Disarming Conflict to support the notion we can work out all international affairs without War-type Conflict.
2025-- folks are headed on a one-way trip to Mars.
i had delusions about that, not nice btw
That isn’t a reason to have a nuclear war. Hopefully, we will be able to find the resources to continue a decent standard of living for everyone in the world. It could be dicey, though. I’m not keen on certain politicians dismissing global warming.
Highly possible there will be yet another world war. At this point im wondering how there could not be.
They could get the nukes involved sure.
We never knew peace down here did we.
Crimby, you are correct.
In my book, there is never a reason to start a nuclear war. I praise Ernie Regehr for his work at Disarming Conflicts.
No it isn’t what the world needs…
Even if you are getting rid of humans you dont like, as some have mentioned, it equally destroys the environment killing off everything in its path.
Anything surviving would have a helluva time living, diseases would be rampant, mutations, suffering far worse than now.
besides I’ve had vivid dreams of this, more than once. I survived that one by flying in a device given to me by Jesus !

one nuclear war coming up…!?!

take care
I wouldn’t mind, as long as it lands right on my house so I won’t feel anything lol
