I recently read an article on the dreaming mind and schizophrenia. It was by a phd psychologist, and she said that the dream center of our mind is active when we are awake.So when we see things that aren’t there and hear voices its our subconscious awake when we are awake.

That’s what my pdoc tells me. That I was dreaming while awake.
Maybe szcs live in a dream.

I like this way of looking at it! My psychosis was like a living nightmare. But just that, a nightmare.

This theory is scary to me, even it’s true. I’ve had delusions where I thought I was in a dream and didn’t know when I’d wake up and lose everything that I loved in this supposed dream world. What if my whole “life” isn’t real, just a dream, and it’ll all be gone when I awake?

while ill it’s like “dreaming while you’re awake” as described by my favorite pdoc. if you think you are living in a dream you are probably unstable and need to tell this to your pdoc.

I’m not currently having that delusion, but I’ve had it many times in the past. It’s very scary.
