Sometimes my hallucinations and delusions felt like dreaming while awake.

That sounds like an awful dream.

I never get nightmares, but during my last episode I thought cars looked like monster faces. It was scary as hell.

We don’t know what consciousness really is and where dreams come from. I’ve learned to ignore mine.

Did you see this piece? It postulates that sz is the waking reality of the dreaming mind. It is not widely accepted by pdocs but this particularly resonated with me.

Oh, I hadn’t read that theory before. There might be some truth to it. I’d focus on the authors’ conclusion:
