85% of my day are on forums and internet

I spend a lot of the time facing my smartphone on forums,Internet and like an hr on smartphone games…I go to work at 9.45am then reach my workplace shop at 10am,after helping cleaning the shop,I would face straight to the smartphone, but I had my reason,my reason is because facing the smartphone is the most comfortable thing to do and I don’t know what to do if I do not use my smartphone(iPhone)

I had social contact on a minimal level as you guys know I am not a socialable guy but I hope I can change slowly, and face other things instead of smartphone be a little more active in real life, and spend lesser time on forums and Internet googling…

I would not be stupid and change everything at once, but I would keep in mind and be mindful that I want to make this changes

Anyone do similar things like I do?Is this behavior a form of relieve for our real life stress??i would choose to balance between comfort and stress

Sorry for the long post but I really wanted to tell you guys this

Technology can be useful but also can be useless. --it is like double-sided coin. As you are aware of it, you are addicted to the Internet and gadgets. But I am not any better than you, --staying in rural areas, the only contact with the people I am familiar is through the Internet.

Until I am able to find other tasks or responsibilities to keep me occupied, I am not going to put people first before technology.

I go through the same thing. You are very much not alone on this. Limiting your use on the sites you are addicted to will help a great deal. Some browsers you can add a site blocker. Which limits how much time you spend on a site.and will cut you off at a set time. Or you can block the site completely. They have been created for this reason. As too many people are getting addicted to certain sites. There a few free ones around and generally have good reputations ie no malware. Proberbly a good place to start at anyrate.

I was like that too, about 8 years ago, when I was just diagnosed with schizohrenia. You might say that meeting and talking with people in real life is stressful, but I have to say that depending on the internet and not interacting with ppl in real life would be even more stressful. If it wasn’t, then you wouldn’t be thinking and wondering about this for long… If one day you feel just fine about interacting with others, you’ll feel relieved that you are part of society and you’ll feel more confident, which isn’t stressful at all in the end.

For me I don’t feel stressful when not interacting with people, and I do not think of this problem for long, but your right, once you feel just fine interacting with people one day,you will be more confident and happier

I stayed on the internet for a whole Summer in freshman year of high school. Had no friends, no one messaged me. Just listened to black metal all day and night and read articles about nihilism and downloaded music. Now when school started again I got lots of friends when I first started getting manic. It was great. Now a days I only leave my house when in an episode of mania. Other than that, I spend my days messaging people and reading the news, avoiding people.

Hope you find happiness, Gtx1990! Take care.
