So it has been a week on risperidone 1mg and sadly prolactin has shot up from 21.59 ng/ml on 0.5mg risperidone to 35.89 ng/ml on 1mg risperidone. Max prolactin should be around 17, and right now its 35.89 on 1mg risperidone
Other than prolactin levels, I’ve been sleeping and tired too much on 1mg risperidone. I take entire dose at bedtime. I cant wake myself up at daytime even after drinking tea. I asked my pdoc what to do about this extreme drowsiness, he said i can try divided risperidone dose like 0.5mg in am and 0.5mg at bedtime.
Also my memory is too good on risperidone even on 0.5mg, i can recall stuff in seconds. Plus i think my working memory is improved as well, for example if i make list of items i wanna buy, i can recall them without looking at the list.
Right now I’m not sure if i wanna continue 1mg or not cuz prolactin levels are too high(35.89 ng/ml). Maybe I will reduce to 0.5mg
My prolactine level 57.i m using paliperidone similar to risperidone. You shouldn t be worry about high prolactine. İ heard that its getting danger after 1000 or so.
With 0.5mg of risperidon at am and 0.5mg at bedtime, you will not have a rush of risperidon in your blood and your prolactine level may decrease,
Also for tiredness and feeling sleepy, don’t forget that time will reduce or even cure them, wait at least for one month and then decide what to do,
Splitting the dosage is a good idea which you mentioned,
I understand why you would want to consider dropping the risperidone.
Although 35 prolactin level is not considered terribly high, it’s pretty high for just being on only 1mg of risperidone.
You also just started.
