my mum has switched to 15 mg Zyprexa two weeks ago. She is now eating lots of sweets and have gained some weight. I think that here weight gain will stabilize around the 100 kg.

What is mg dosis?
I’ve been on zyprexa in the range 20-2,5mg. 20mg was a good dose for me as starters to quiet down my symptoms, but struggled with extreme apathy and weight gain. I had to get down to 10mg to get a little bit of motivation. Right now I’m doing 7,5mg which is working good. Motivation is acceptable and I manage to be aware of my eating habits.
My Doc don’t allow me to go under 15 mg.
Ok. Well doctor knows best I guess. I would try to get to a lower dose though with your doctors approval if you have been stable for a few months, unless you already tried and it didn’t work out because of reoccuring symptoms.
The pdoc didn’t allow me to go under 15 mg for years. I have no positive Symptoms. I have a chronic residuum (not productive).
Well it’s your life so if you disagree I would make tha clear for your doctor. If you tried to go down to say 12,5mg and it works that can in my experience make a decent difference. I don’t see why you can’t try. Worst case scenario you get symptoms and have to go back up on your dose.

But my Symptoms can be from one moment to the other very massive: bad paranoia. Then they have to send me in hospital.
Ok. You better stay on the dose you are comfortable with. The answer when it comes to type of meds and dose is different for all of us. I just thought you said you had been stable for years, but if you haven’t you should stick to what you are doing anyways.

At one point I was on 10mg of olanzpine but I rapidly gained weight despite being being on Metformin as well. So we took me off of it. Worked well for my symptoms though.
I was on 20mg olanzapine for a while,now on 15mg. Yes there was weight gain and poor diet lack of exercise and sleeping in till noon. But it does work. I did lose weight when I was on olanzapine with celexa but gained all back and more when taken off celexa. I also took olanzapine with clonazepam but didn’t notice much weight change that I remember. Got really religious ideational on the clonazepam tho. Now I’m on olanzapine and sertraline but have not lost any weight…maybe gain tinny bit.
I was mildly depressed when I was on Olanzapin. Kind of a joyless world. I craved sugar and I slept a lot. It’s not as bad as the typical antipsychotics, though.
I’ve been 20mg Olanzapine for 20 years. I’ve gained 50 lbs in total which should be mentioned given I exercised a lot. My only other complaint is social anxiety, which can probably be relieved with more meds. But I’d rather be uncomfortable than take more meds.
