1mg Rexulti

I received a letter from the government that my pdr applied for insurance for Rexulti 1mg so he’ll prescribe it next week apt. It should make my negative symptoms slightly better but I hope it won’t make me impulsive or give me addiction problems like Abilify 20mg.

Given that its only 1mg and that Rexulti has slightly less side effects than Abilify, I think it should be good and shouldn’t change my personality like Abilify 20mg. Once Vraylar is out here by end of this year, I should be on Vraylar only and my negative symptoms should improve even much more.

Interesting. I hope it makes a difference for you. I’m interested in rexulti myself.

I think Rexulti causes less anxiety and less akathisia:

“Brexpiprazole has more blocking and less stimulating activity at the dopamine receptors than its predecessor, aripiprazole, which may decrease its risk for agitation and restlessness. Specifically, where aripiprazole has an intrinsic activity or agonist effect at the D2 receptor of 60%+, brexpiprazole has an intrinsic activity at the same receptor of about 45%.”

Sounds like a plan!
Good luck with it!

I was recently prescribed Rexulti. I’m up to 2mg now. I like it so much. I’m gradually going down on Invega which didn’t work well for me. For me, Rexulti causes way less akathisia than Abilify. I do still get akathisia but it is manageable with Benztropine. Best wishes to you on your new med changes.

I started lowering it this morning and I’m noticing a feeling of mild euphoria and more motivation.
Ive been listening to music and I feel pleasure from it.

Maybe its just an adjustment period but also have to see if Im not getting manic from the reduced dose.

Why? Don’t you take a mood stabilizer?

I also had slightly more energy on 3mg but its not a big difference.

Im already on Depakote

Then it shouldn’t make you manic but your pdr knows more, maybe ask him.

I like lamictal way more than depakote. I don’t really enjoy lithium. I hated topamax because it made me paranoid and psychotic but got me out of my head from being oblivious to reality from dp/dr. I lost a ton of weight from topamax so I’d consider topamax again in the future. It stimulates me too. The biggest drawback is topamax is known as ‘stupamax’ because it literally lowers your iq by 1-2 points.

I went from 290 lbs to 220 lbs on Topamax in a year.

Good news @Aziz I hope this gets you feeling better and out of the bed.

I have been interested in Rexulti myself. I like partial dopamine agonists the best. My Psychiatrist chose Cariprazine over it for me though. It along with Lamictal have been lifesavers for me. I hope Rexulti works nice for you!

That’s what I am waiting for in 2 months. Its better in my opinion because it can’t cause addiction and hypersexuality like Rexulti and Abilify. Not everyone experience these side effects though. I did.

What blocks more dopamine vraylar or abilify?

I think all partial agonists are equal, Abilify, Rexulti and Vraylar. They equally boost low dopamine and equally reduces high dopamine.
