15-20mg of Olanzapine barely even effects me

I have a question. I Can take anywhere from 15-20mg of olanzapine at night and I can barely feel it and I’ll not be tired and even wake up once or twice throughout the night.

Isn’t this unusual? From all the accounts I’ve read people who take this high of a dose of olanzapine pass out for like 12-14 hours and are super sluggish the next day.

Also, it barely even touches the grip my delusion has on me. Am I just super treatment resistant?

It did nothing for me also. It didn’t even make me tired or nothing

Dang, so what med do you take or took that finally helped you?

I want to start clozapine but my doctor won’t put me on it… he’s not convinced that I need it.

My DR won’t put me on it either she says it requires a lot of lab testing

Wait I’m confused. So what antipsychotic do you take at the moment to help you?

Olanzapine doesnt really help me fall asleep, but it helps me STAY asleep. I’ve been getting anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a night recently. I take 10 mg

Gotcha. Well, hopefully the haldol is working well for you. We’ve got such a rough disease…

Do you experience any tardive dyskinesia from the haldol or are you worried about developing it?

No I haven’t had any side effects from it. I thought it would make me sleepy but it hasn’t.

Are you able to sleep or do you take something else for insomnia?

Nothing for insomnia helps me. I usually sleep 2 hours a day if I’m lucky.

Have you experienced any tardive dyskinesia yet from olanzapine or any of the antipsychotics you’ve taken over time? If not, are you worried about developing it? Should any of us worry about developing it eventually? My doctor says it only happens after 10-20 years on medicine and it’s rare. I think it’s much more common than what my doctor says but who knows…

Dang, I’m sorry to hear that..

I’m the same, I’m lucky to get 5 hours sleep a night and that’s with using Mirtazapine.

But I quit Mirtazapine now, now that I’m on a new AP depot injection (Flupentixol) I feel like I don’t need it but have gone back to not sleeping at all, hopefully soon I’ll be able to sleep again.

And all this was originally caused by Paliperidone and Aripiprazole injections, awful things that first gave me insomnia.

That’s terrible, how terrible is this drug.

My miserable pdoc at the time put me on high dose of Invega injection (called Xeplion where I live), I’m pretty sure it’s done permanent damage. This horrible drug has to be reviewed it’s doing terrible damage
