For anyone searching for the right AP, I just want to say that I’m loving Zyprexa. After a week, my positives are basically gone and I’m sleeping wonderfully. I know I don’t see full effects for another week or so but this is good so far.
I do have anxiety and will ask for something for that. After that I may be functioning normally for a while.
I just started month 2 of 15mg Zyprexa, I love it, voices are behaving, thoughts feel clear. It’s worked well for me too.

Zyprexa for me is clean thoughts and weight gain
I’m on 5 mg and moving up to 10 mg tomorrow. I’m hoping to stay at 10 for a while.
Are you gonna ask for a SSRI?
@Yellowdiamond I was taking Cymbalta and liked it. That’s an SNRI I think.
Had alot of issues with zyprexa like dystonia, and Parkinson’s like symptoms.
Sorry to here that. I had similar problems on Abilify and they sucked.

A little olanzapine along with my amisulpride helps a lot with my depression and hypomania
When I was on Zyprexa I slept a lot. Some times that appeals to me, but then again Zyprexa dulls my mind and makes me mildly depressed. Personally, I’m loving Geodon and Seroquel.
@TheStrange I started working out too in Hope’s to avoid gaining.
@crimby I thought Seroquel made people sleepy. I’ve never had it but my husband has it for sleep.
These drugs can have different effects on different people. Zyprexa made me sleepy - all the time. There are general trends in the effects these drugs have on different people, but it seems like at least one person is affected differently by them.

What medication were you taking before olanzapine?
Zyprexa is my miracle AP. Totally removes delusion and paranoia, and keeps the voices polite. Only thing it doesn’t do is get rid of the hallucinations altogether, but as I said it keeps them polite and manageable. I’m on a low dose of 7.5mg and don’t experience side effects.
Watch out for weight gain, lots of people (not myself, but others) say they gain weight on it. So if it makes you hungry try not to indulge yourself too much I guess. Glad it’s doing good things for you.
@Tina20 I have nightmares almost every night on it. They’ve been worse recently, but I don’t mind them, since I’m pretty functional in the daytime. I’ve had stretches on the medicine without nightmares though, so maybe something else is causing them.
I was on 60mg or 80mg zyprexa and I gained weight. I have quit it now
I’m on 12,5mg now. I dropped to 7,5mg recently, and before i was on 10mg. But i think i feel better now than under 10mg, i have to wait to be sure yet.
