Zyprexa makes me feel more whole

I started zyprexa a few weeks ago and it’s madsuch a huge difference. I’m not preoccupied with weird beliefs and I’ve rarely hallucinated. My social anxiety is lower than it’s ever been.
Anyone else click with zyprexa?

It was the worst med for me, i thoroughly hated it, but im real happy it works such wonders for you. Someone i know loves it too. Shows how individual experiences differ and should be respected. Good you found something helpful!

I’m on 2 APs and zyprexa is one of them. It’s really helped my hallucinations. The thing I don’t like about it is u stay sleepy. I sleep about 12 hours so i have to plan my bedtime early. Glad it’s working out for u

Yeah been on it for well over a decade and it works well for me. I still have the odd breakthrough but largely I do ok. I no longer have racing thoughts and most of my positives aren’t a bother. Really works well for me.

Zyprexa is my miracle drug. I started taking it in mid-March of this year, and it’s completely controlling all my positive symptoms. I never thought anything would take care of my crippling paranoia, but Zyprexa does. I no longer have delusions of being watched and followed, I no longer have breakthrough voices, I’m no longer afraid to leave the house or drive, and I am ready to come off disability.

I’m glad the Zyprexa is helping you too! I love this stuff!

Have you gained any weight? I have noticed that I’m eating a lot more than normal and trying to get that under control

Yeah. I would suggest checking ur weight.

The combination with Haldol made me think more clearly and form ideas in a straight forward way. The only thing that worries me is the increase risk of Diabetes, but with exercise and a healthier lifestyle will help me steer me off that direction.

@Moon I have been restricting myself to 1200-1400 calories a day since I started Zyprexa three months ago. I am down 15 pounds so far and counting. The Zyprexa has been keeping my appetite under good control, I don’t have a problem staying in my calorie range.

You don’t necessarily have to gain weight if you control your eating. I use a website called Sparkpeople to log my nutrition and plan a week’s worth of meals at a time. It helps a lot.

Zyprexa turned my whole life around! I was delusional, seeing patterns in everything, thinking everything was always all about Jesica, thought “they” were sending me messages through other people. They were, but that’s a whole nother topic. The tactile hallucinations were god awful, I was a full blown freakin drunk nutcase most of the time. Everything my delusional fiance would say would somehow make my condition worse, I thought whatever he said was gonna happen there for a little bit. And he was speaking some scary stuff that just triggered my delusions even more. I never lost my mind. I was still very present in everything that was happening. I knew I was crazy and needed help lol. I practically ran to get it! I knew that people in that field were trained in psychiatry or psychology, or both, spent 6+ years in school, had more experience on the whole subject, were smarter than I am, and I knew God had that branch of medicine on this Earth for a reason! My logic was: if you have cancer, you see an oncologist, skin issue-dermatologist, belly problem-gastroenterology, etc. Voices? Psychiatry! God made things very simple for me. I was put on Zyprexa and blah Vistiril. Later my outpatient doctor also prescribed Zoloft. I slept a lot when I first started taking it. She had me taking the Zyprexa in the morning and at night, she eventually prescribed 15 mg. at night instead, but for the first couple weeks I had to take a morning dose and all I literally could do is sleep and eat. My relationship with food around this time was very sick. Eating and gorging myself was almost orgasmic lol! If you just recently got prescribed Zyprexa, please be warned about the appetite increase, no one warned me and I got up to 170 lbs. If it gets out of hand, a person could end up with some serious medical conditions, diabeties for example. Take care of your body. Watch what you eat, make yourself exercise. I wish you the best

It keeps me from disassociating and I think it reduces the voices. I respond to Zyprexa better than the other antipsychotics I’ve tried.
