Researchers found that DNA variations associated with increased risk for multiple psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, and autism, are capable of driving immune system abnormalities observed in these illnesses. This could be one common causal factor spanning disorders.

There are so many theories out there. I’ve also read it’s due to our gut bacteria.

I stick to 80% genetics. 20% nurture. And meds help if you have symptoms,

Mental illness, immune system, diet and metabolism are linked. Check celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

yeah, maybe. thanks. I’ve always had good diet, especially when pregnant, a few years before I was diagnosed.

just wanted to add one more thing to this post and convo,
imo, there’s a 4th brain: your hands.
some are very skilled in jobs or arts,
it takes training.

Maybe it does. Glucose triggers insulin response. Insulin has various functions not just converting excess glucose into fats. Alzheimer’s is being considered type 3 diabetes.

PCOS and infertility is sometimes associated with insulin resistance.
