I think all these ideas trying to explain the self that people have thought up are mainly a load of hooey. I apparently need confidence, an ego, happiness, and a big bundle of other crap (including spirituality) in order to be a “better person”. So the underlying message is what, that we aren’t good enough as we are? I honestly believe true faith in self is acceptance of yourself without anyone else’s idea of what you are “supposed” to be. It’s always irked me. I mean seriously, if it’s my life and self, I’ll decide what the heck I need to be me.
Pride cometh before the fall…
I needed an ego and it seems to work for me, more than “being myself”. It allows me to be ‘undetermined’ so I can be different in every situation.
Yeah I think everyone has their own needs to be the best version of themselves. None of that stuff makes any sense to me so it doesn’t work for me at all. Different strokes for different folks.
