Well, I would be happy to try being a billionaire and let you know if you are right or not about this.
I’m not arguing a political point. But the wealthy don’t pay taxes.
They’re not paying the same percentage that individuals do.
Must be nice to own a few politicians.
And that’s all I can say.
I work because I have to. Not because I want.
I need the money.
My job has some perks but it is still an obligation.
If I were financially independent (say, €2k / month passive income would suffice in my neck of the woods), I would spend my time doing other stuff. Reading, studying, doing a bit of travelling and volunteering, playing tennis.
Would I be happier? Definitely.
I honestly wouldn’t know what to do with 100 million bucks. I’d look over my shoulder for fear of being kidnapped.
I wish I had money so I could move. Get away from this horrible place. People around here are animals.
I want a big vault of gold coins like Scrooge McDuck so I can dive head first into it and swim for hours.
Being a multimillionaire would be nice. Those days of dreaming are over and gone and done with for me.
I think it’s a good goal to be a millionaire or billionaire. But intelligence isn’t always equated with wealth.
I’m content, happy even sometimes. I’m poor.
I think being a success is a good thing and wanting more in life is a good thing. They say money is the root of all evil. They say money can turn people evil and mean. Just look at Hollywood.
Most rich people pay a lot in taxes. Most Americans don’t pay their fair share or anything at all. The system is set up for the Rich to benefit or get richer and I don’t blame them for helping themselves at all.
Even if Elon or Bezos pays a smaller percentage, they still pay a lot more – most than anyone will ever dream about and do more for society than most of us folks. I don’t envy them.
I think the middle class gets screwed the hardest. It’s always been like that here in America. Probably the world too.
I’ll settle for a half ton of money
Bills, not coins!
No you don’t need a lot of money to be happy. Because beyond what’s required to fulfill your needs and wants, it just sits in the bank, or in your investment portfolio, unused, and unenjoyed by you.
I would definitely be happy if I had more money.
Imo being poor is like lifting a heavy weight. It sucks in the moment but overall it’s worth it because it makes you stronger.
One of my favorite bosses once said that it doesn’t matter how much you earn but it is how much you save. This guy had a Hummer, which was fun to ride in, and worked hard to get what he has. Good guy. Never once was stuck up or flaunting his stuff.
“A penny saved, is a penny earned” - Benjamin Franklin
I really need to learn that and study that again lol
I would probably be less happy rich than poor, and I agree you don’t need tons of money to be happy — because then I would have to rate myself and ask myself what I truly deserve, then depress my situation with arrogance, narcissistic things… And basically feel like a pig…
I believe truly that needs should come before wants in life — I work a job and I have a very good living situation, that’s all I need, I love my cat and apartment
100 dollar bills don’t weigh much so I would a agree that you don’t need tons of money. About a half ton would probably be sufficient.
Seriously, I think that some money can help, but you reach a point where it probably doesn’t make much of a difference anymore when you have more.
1 $100 bill ways 1g. 100 000 dollars weighs 1kg. I ton is 2000 lbs or very roughly 1000 kg. 1 ton of them would be 100 000 000 dollars.
Maybe you don’t have to be rich to be happy, but it surely does help. A lot of anxiety and worrying can be traced to concern about costs.
