Time goes by…
When I was a child, I had leather footbal ball, we played with it, whole neighbourhood kids.
Later, I started guitar lessons, got my Commodore 64,and played simple games)
I waited four years for that comp.
But now, everything seems to strange for me.
Artificial intelligence, smartphones, electronic paying and such things.
I don’t want to adapt to that.
Guess through years of suffering I learned that you can’t stop the time…
I value more human qualities, nature, spring and summer.
Solitude over social netvorks.
Respecting others, as well my self.
Young people can tell I’m old, and time got over me, but if it is like that than yes.
Waiting for just one person who would enjoy the values I follow, nothing more.
Some random thoughts. Not anti new technology, but can have difficulty using it - smartphones! Think as a society we have become more individualistic and less concerned about the common good, than when I was a young teenager/adult. Much more pressure on children/teenagers(teenagers especially)compared to when I was that age. Teenagers nowadays often see 80% on a test as a failure, in my day 65-70% got you a top grade at O level. I have mixed feelings about the internet . At its best it’s one of the best ever inventions. At it’s worst - online bullying, trolling etc -it has made society crueller and more uncivilised. Indian food was better in the 1970s-early 1980’s than it is now. Less choice, but better quality re TV programmes pre Cable/satellite TV. Can’t digest salad like I used to. 1982-1988 was my heyday for contemporary music . Nowadays I like the odd song here and there. Too many mediocre or worse auto tuned vocalists . Simon Cowell has dumbed down music so image often counts for more than quality.Starting to physically feel my age , and that time is running out on me. Mentally still as sharp as ever.
When I was a kid I had to watch other kids play sports. I wasn’t allowed to participate because of heart issues. Schools are built for extroverts and those who play sports. I was neither, so my childhood sucked. The tech I have now gives me a quality of life that wasn’t available to me in my youth. I can socialize with people who share my interests, on my terms, and at my convenience. I can learn new things for free whenever I feel like it. I have boundless entertainment at my fingertips.
What an amazing time to be alive.
It’s not about how old you are. It’s about how alive you are.
I will be 61 in April…took me forever to get a smart phone…haha…barely get around on the computer and never could get the hang of the controller for video games…meh, I 'm happy just living.
