Yikes, drivers license expired

On my birthday on the 11th. I thought it was good until 2026 but when I checked it on the 14th I noticed it expired in 2025. I finally renewed it online today but I’ll still have to drive until it comes in the mail but I’ll only try to drive just to work and back.

The thing is, to get my new studio I had to show my drivers license and they made a copy of it. It was after it expired though. I didn’t know at the time it was expired but now I’m thinking I should point out the error to management when I get my new license. I should point out the error, right?

And I desperately need my license fast. One reason is I need to show it to the food bank to recertify to be eligible for groceries. Another reason is I’m flying to Bend, Oregon in September and starting May 6th I’ll need to show a Real ID in order to fly domestically. I tried to start the process but I need to show a birth certificate to get the Real ID. So I tried to order one online and found out I need a notary public form to get a birth certificate, in order to get a notary public I need to show a current drivers license!

I’m also awaiting my benefit award letter to bring to my manager at the new studio.

I got my driver’s license back a few months ago. Had to pay 33 dollars that was fine. They’re supposed to give you a paper driver’s license so you can continue to drive at least here in Texas. Until you get your dl through the mail.

Ugh, bureaucracy at its finest :roll_eyes:, haha.

I actually just redid my passport not too long ago (it was expired, so I had to go through the entire process all over again :woozy_face:).

Then I was able to do my Real ID a few days ago, and am now waiting for the hard copy to show up in the mail.

They really don’t make it easy to get a Real ID— what with all the paperwork and stuff— and not having a working license just over-complicates everything.

Hopefully you can get your license and Real ID sorted soon, and painlessly!

I just checked my new drivers license and its real id compliant it has the yellow star in the top right corner

Man, that’s a lot of hoops to jump through! I really feel for you. I hope it arrives soon.
