I'm going to try to get my driver's license back

I turned in my driver’s license in October 2020 for a state id card that doesn’t expire, like my Mom had. The clerk gave me a Real ID that expires in four years. I don’t think they can issue non-expiring ID’s anymore.

I wanted an ID that doesn’t expire at the time because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to stand or walk to go to Motor Vehicles to renew my ID.

If all I can have is one that expires, I might as well have a driver’s license.

Yeah I would agree that is a better course of action. Can you still drive and do you need to do the test again? I liked getting a licence in the states. Gawd. So much easier than it is out here.

I’m not sure? I’m going to go in to Motor Vehicles Monday and ask what I need to do. I tried calling on the phone but nobody answered.

I’m still able to drive for the time being though I’m 63 now and getting old.

Over here you get to a certain age and you have to get eye checks/doctors approval and such just to keep your licence. I’m 52 and can drive. I suspect at 62 I should be good fingers crossed.

Anyways. I think it gives you options anyways and having a licence is probably the way to go if your state id is gone.
