No surprise. My darling Charlie knew her name. Her cousin Chloe knew Charlies name. She was a little slow old Chloe!
Cats are amazing in that they are a species that got attracted to human settlement and just moved in. Dogs had to be bred specifically to get ones that acknowledged humans as masters. Cats couldn’t give two hoots and just domesticated themselves.

It is kind of weird to me that they even have to do studies on this kind of thing.
I call all the animals by their names and they clearly know who is who.
Can’t even trick the dog with words by making it sound the same by saying it in a similar tone/whatever.
They all know the subtle things too like Kitty knows when I’m calling her ‘bad’ kitty. She immediately runs like she did something wrong even if I say like a joke.
